Wiper Blade Wear Indicator and System
Described is a wiper blade for a windshield of a vehicle. The wiper blade having a frame structure, a squeegee, and a conductive strip. The squeegee is coupled to the frame structure and includes a wiping lip. The conductive strip is formed on a side wall of the wiping lip. The conductive strip extends along a length of the wiping lip. The wiper blade can also include an indicator, such as one or more light emitting diodes, to indicate a physical condition of the wiping lip.
DEVICE FOR DETERMINING A STATE OF WEAR OF A WIPER BLADE
A device for determining a state of wear of a wiper blade for a wiper system is disclosed. The device is configured to be fitted in a motor vehicle. The device for determining a state of wear includes an angular position sensor configured to measure at least one datum relating to a wiper blade during a wiping operation and an electronic control unit configured to determine the state of wear of the wiper blade as a function of the at least one datum measured by the angular position sensor.
Automated system for suggesting wiper replacement
A system for determining a need for a vehicle windshield wiper blade replacement includes a detector for detecting a wiper blade operating noise and a processor configured to determine a wear condition requiring wiper blade replacement from the detected wiper blade operating noise. On determining the wear condition, the processor provides a display including at least a windshield wiper blade wear condition warning and a listing of one or more suggested replacement wiper blades. The visible display may further include a listing of one or more suggestions of locations for acquiring the replacement wiper blades. Related methods are also disclosed.
Vehicle diagnostics
Computing systems for vehicle diagnostics are provided. In accordance with some aspects, a computing system may receive, from a vehicle (e.g., from a computing device installed in and/or at the vehicle), a diagnostic code generated by an on-board diagnostic (OBD) system of the vehicle. The computing system may determine an issue with the vehicle based on the diagnostic code and may determine, based on the issue, a remedial action for addressing the issue and a timeframe for performing the remedial action. The computing system may store data identifying the issue, the remedial action, and the timeframe in a record associated with the vehicle.
System for detecting windshield wiper noise and related methods
A system for detecting noise generated by a windshield wiper on a vehicle including a cabin is provided. The system includes a detector for detecting noise generated by the windshield wiper. A processor is provided for generating a signal based on the noise detected by the detector. A controller may also receive the signal and regulate the operation of the windshield wiper, including by adaptive control based on a vehicle operator's desired setting of a speed of the wiper in an intermittent mode of operation. The signal may also be used to notify a service provider of the need for servicing the windshield wiper. Related methods are also disclosed.
METHOD FOR MONITORING THE USE OF A WIPER SYSTEM OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
The invention relates to a method 100 for monitoring the use of a wiper system of a motor vehicle 1, comprising the following steps: a step of collecting at least one item of data relating to the triggering of the wiper system 10, a step of collecting at least one item of data relating to the vehicle 1 and/or to its environment, a step of transforming at least one of the items of data collected in the previous steps into a value, termed monitoring value, a step of comparing the monitoring value with a value, termed predetermined threshold value, a step of recording at least one of the collected items of data when the monitoring value reaches or exceeds the predetermined threshold value.
The invention also relates to a wiper system 10 comprising a control unit designed to implement the method such as described above.
Vehicle diagnostics
Computing systems for vehicle diagnostics are provided. In accordance with some aspects, a computing system may include a vehicle having a plurality of sensors for monitoring an operation of one or more vehicle systems. The system may also include a computing device configured to receive, from a vehicle (e.g., from the plurality of sensors monitoring the operation of one or more vehicle systems via a communication interface), at least one signal corresponding to a status of a vehicle component. The computing system may predict, based on the at least one signal, when an issue with the vehicle is likely to occur and may determine, based on the issue, a remedial action for addressing the issue and a timeframe for performing the remedial action.
Windscreen wiper blade with ageing member
Windscreen wiper blade intended to be hinged to an actuating arm of a wiper system, this blade comprising: a member referred to as an ageing member able to change visual appearance over time; and at least one symbol (7) hidden by the ageing member, the symbol (7) becoming visible after the ageing member has changed in visual appearance, characterized in that the symbol (7) comprises at least one type of elementary pattern (70) the dimensions and/or relative layout of which code for information relating to the blade.
