Sample collection system including valve assembly
A biological sample collection system includes (i) a sample collection vessel having an opening for receiving a biological sample, (ii) a selectively movable valve comprising a core and a collar disposed about the core, and (iii) a sealing cap coupled to the valve and including a reagent chamber for storing a sample preservation reagent. The valve is configured to retain the sample preservation reagent in the reagent chamber when the valve is in a closed configuration. The sealing cap is configured to associate and form a fluid tight connection with the sample collection vessel. Associating the sealing cap with the sample collection vessel causes the valve to be placed in an open configuration in which a fluid vent through the core is placed into fluid communication with the reagent chamber, thereby causing or allowing sample preservation reagent to pass from the regent chamber to the sample collection vessel.
Tumbler Lid with Reservoir and Repetitive Measuring and Disbursement Mechanism
This container lid fits onto existing insulated cups. It has a refillable and sealable reservoir with a top opening to receive substances and a bottom opening to release substances into a container. The release of substances is controlled and measured before release. A double piston and button combination interact with a narrow section of the reservoir to dispense only a portion of the contents from the reservoir into the container. The released portion is carefully metered within the narrow channel when the double piston alternately seals a first opening and a second opening of the narrow channel. The reservoir serves to store the unreleased substance until the next time the button is activated to release addition substance into the container.
DISPENSING DEVICE FOR A DRINK BOTTLE
A formulation dispensing device can include a cartridge receptacle to accommodate and/or secure a beverage ingredient cartridge and permit contents within the cartridge to flow into a bottle or beverage container. Additionally, a formulation dispensing device can include a drink through valve that can permit mixed contents from a beverage container to flow through the drink through valve and be consumed. For example, the formulation dispensing device can include ingredients that can be added to a range of different drinks, including sports drinks, dietary drinks, and as a critical life supporting drinks in humanitarian situations. The formulation dispensing device can also include a lid configured to pivot between open and closed positions and can seal the dispensing device which allows the beverage container to be inverted during consumption without leakage through the first aperture.
MIXING/CLOSURE DEVICE FOR A CONTAINER
A closure device for a container has a lid element for closing the container opening, a chamber which is arranged on the lid element for storing a medium, and an inner housing. The chamber and the inner housing have corresponding closure means and opening means. A discharge opening paired with the chamber can be released by moving the lid element relative to the inner housing such that a medium can exit the chamber into the container. The chamber and the inner housing each have a corresponding first thread which is formed relative to a winding rotational axis. The first thread which is located on the chamber is arranged so as to point radially outwards when seen from the thread rotational axis.
Closure Device
A closure device may be formed with a reservoir closure housing, defining a reservoir. An electrically-actuated valve may be arranged to open a passage from a reservoir of the closure housing. An actuation circuit may be connected to the electrically-actuated valve. The actuation circuit may include a battery or a power source. The actuation circuit may include a switch connected in series with the power source. The switch may be a manually-actuated switch. The manually-actuated switch may be a twist-actuated switch. The closure device may have a photovoltaic element as a power source. A removable cover may shield the photovoltaic element from light. The closure device may have an electrically-actuated valve that is a piezoelectric electric valve. The closure device wherein the piezoelectric valve may be arranged for fluid communication between a reservoir side of the valve and a container side of said valve and a control member may be movable between a first position blocking said port and a second position, at least partially unblocking the port.
Mixing/closure device for a container and method for dispensing a medium from a closure device
A closure device for a container, having a lid element for closing the container opening, a chamber which is arranged on the lid element for storing a medium, and an inner housing. The first winding which is located on the chamber is arranged so as to point radially outwards when seen from the winding rotational axis.
Admixing closure device for a container
A closure device for a container comprising a cover element for closing the container, a chamber arranged on the cover element and an inner housing. The chamber has a chamber end piece having an outlet opening that can be closed by means of a closure means. The inner housing comprises opening means for opening the outlet opening, wherein the chamber can be moved relative to the inner housing from a closed position into an outlet position. The chamber and the chamber end piece are connected to each other in a fluid-tight and gas-tight manner by means of a plastic seal injection molded on chamber and chamber end piece, wherein chamber, chamber end piece and plastic seal are formed from the same plastic. The invention further relates to a method for producing a closure device or a chamber.
CLOSURE DEVICE FOR A CONTAINER
A closure device for a container opening, comprising a lid element for closing the container opening, a chamber which is arranged on the lid element, and an inner housing. The chamber and the inner housing have corresponding closure means and opening means as well as corresponding first threaded means. A discharge opening paired with the chamber can be released with the aid of the threaded means by moving the lid element relative to the inner housing such that a medium stored in the chamber can exit into the container. The chamber has a first region above the first threaded means and a second region below the first region, wherein, relative to a axis of rotation of the thread, the first region is designed radially greater than the second region.
REAGENT COMPONENT DISPENSING CAPS FOR REAGENT CONTAINERS USED IN AUTOMATED CLINICAL ANALYZERS
Described is an automated reagent dispensing cap and methods of use in an automated clinical analyzer for introducing one or more reagent components housed in the reagent dispensing cap into a container enclosing another reagent component with which it is combined to achieve a reagent useful for diagnostic testing.
Adjustable additive cartridge systems
An adjustable additive cartridge that provides adjustable metering of additive to a base fluid as the base fluid is flowing through the cartridge. A spout is mounted for limited rotation within a base element of the cartridge. Rotation of the spout results in varying degrees of flow of additive into a base fluid flow path through the cartridge. The cartridge may be used with a portable beverage container, such as a sports bottle or off-the-shelf water bottle. The supply of base fluid in a container used with the cartridge may be kept in an unmixed, pure state, and other cartridges, each having different additives (i.e., flavors) may be used interchangeably with the same base fluid supply. The cartridge allows a consumer/user to experience different additives, such as different flavors or supplement compositions, for a given supply of base liquid in a single container. A check valve on the cartridge prevents backflow of the base fluid. An integrated filter for filtering base fluid flowing into the cartridge may be provided. The additive cartridge may be sealed to provide for extended storage and to provide a user/consumer with evidence of integrity, quality and/or tampering prior to purchase and/or use. Visual and tactile indicators of the amount of additive being added to a base fluid may be provided. A container may retain a spare additive adjustable cartridge on the container.
