The present disclosure describes a module base element for a vehicle occupant protection system comprising at least one module carrier for receiving at least one airbag module wherein the airbag module comprises at least one airbag and the airbag is connected to a gas source, especially a gas generator, and comprising a hinged arm having at least one hinged element so that the module carrier can be moved from an idle position to an operating position and from an operating position to an idle position, and comprising a lap restraint element. The present disclosure further describes a vehicle occupant protection system for protecting a vehicle occupant in a vehicle seat comprising at least one restraint element, wherein at least one restraint element of the vehicle occupant protection system is disposed in a module base element according to the present disclosure.
PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEM HAVING A SEAT AND VEHICLE COMPRISING A PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEM
An occupant restraint system (30) comprises a seat (14), at least one airbag integrated in the seat (14) and an airbag control device. The seat (14) is adjustable at least between a first seating position and a second seating position, the seat (14) in the second seating position having an orientation (A) that is rotated vis-à-vis the first seating position about an angle of rotation (α) from 170° to 190°. The airbag has a first inflated state and a second inflated state in which the airbag has an external geometry different from the one in the first inflated state. Accordingly, the airbag control device is arranged so that, in the case of need, the airbag adopts the first inflated state when the seat (14) is in the first seating position, and the airbag adopts the second inflated state when the seat (14) is in the second seating position. Further, a vehicle (10) comprising such an occupant restraint system (30) is provided.
SIDE AIRBAG DEVICE
The present invention is provided with an inflator arranged on the occupant side of the side frame positioned on the side portion inside the seatback that generates expansion gas and an airbag that is expanded by the expansion gas and protects an occupant seated on the vehicle seat. The airbag includes a main chamber that deploys toward the front of the seatback, and a pre-chamber that houses the inflator inside and is connected to the occupant side of the main chamber. In addition, an internal tether having a front end part connected to the front portion of the pre-chamber and a rear end part connected to the rear portion of the pre-chamber are provided inside the pre-chamber.
AIRBAG WITH RELEASABLE SECONDARY CHAMBERS
An assembly includes a first seat and a second seat spaced from the first seat. The assembly includes an airbag supported by the first seat. The airbag is inflatable to an inflated position between the seats. The airbag has a main chamber, a pair secondary chambers supported by the main chamber, and a tether releasably connected to the secondary chambers. The secondary chambers are maintained by the tether in an undeployed position relative to the main chamber and the secondary chambers are releasable by the tether to a deployed position in a cross-vehicle direction relative to the main chamber. The assembly includes a computer including a processor and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor to identify that an occupant is seated in the first seat, identify that an occupant is seated in the second seat and release the tether based on the identification of the occupants seated seats.
SEAT AIRBAG DEVICE FOR VEHICLE AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING OPERATION THEREOF
A seat airbag apparatus for a vehicle and a method of controlling the operation thereof, includes side cushions deployed from the seatback, front cushions configured to be deployed from the side cushions, and inflators for the side cushions and inflators for the front cushions. The deployment operation of the side cushions and the deployment operation of the front cushions are respectively controlled depending on a normal seating mode and a relax mode of an occupant and a side collision and a front collision of the vehicle.

An assembly includes a vehicle seat. The assembly includes an armrest supported by the vehicle seat. The armrest includes an upright portion elongated along an axis and an arm support portion supported by the upright portion. The assembly includes an airbag supported by the arm support portion of the armrest. The airbag inflatable to an inflated position. The airbag includes an upper portion extending upwardly from the arm support portion when the airbag is in the inflated position and a lower portion extending downwardly from the arm support portion when the airbag is in the inflated position. The upper portion is vehicle-inboard of the axis and the lower portion being vehicle-outboard of the axis.
AIRBAG DEVICE AND VEHICLE SEAT
An airbag device equipped in a vehicle seat. The vehicle seat has a structure in which a seat frame is arranged with left and right sides inside the seat back. The airbag device according to the present invention includes: an inflator that is secured to the side of the seat frame of the vehicle seat and an airbag that is stowed inside the seatbag [sic] in an elongated and compressed state and is expanded and deployed by the expansion gas discharged from the inflator. The airbag in the stowed state is arranged along the seat frame, and includes a lower portion area lower than the inflator and an upper portion area above the inflator. The lower portion area is arranged inside the seat frame, and the upper portion area is arranged outside the seat frame.
VEHICLE AIRBAG DEVICE
A vehicle airbag device comprises an airbag body including a front-rear chamber configured to pass a side of the head of an occupant seated in a vehicle seat and to deploy toward a seat front side as a result of gas being ejected from an inflator actuated, so as to be disposed at the side of the head of the occupant, a leading end chamber is configured to deploy toward a seat width direction inner side from a seat front side end portion of the front-rear chamber so as to be disposed at the seat front side of the head of the occupant, and a shoulder-contact section is configured to contact, from the seat front side, a first shoulder of the occupant so as to restrain the first shoulder, the first shoulder being at an opposite side from a second shoulder of the occupant across which a shoulder belt is worn.
VEHICLE SEAT ARMREST COUPLED AIRBAG MODULES
Airbag modules coupled with vehicle seat structural elements, such as armrests. In some embodiments, an airbag module may comprise an airbag cover configured to be positioned within a vehicle seat and comprising an opening. The opening may be configured to receive a structural element of the vehicle seat therethrough, such as an armrest mount. The module may further comprise an airbag cushion positioned within the airbag cover and configured to deploy from the airbag cover such that forces from deployment of the airbag cushion are directed applied to the structural element, in some cases directing these forces to the seat frame.
SEAT AIRBAG DEVICE FOR VEHICLE
The present invention provides a seat airbag device for a vehicle, the seat airbag device including an airbag cushion including a lateral chamber positioned at lateral sides of a passenger and configured to be deployed forward from a seatback of a vehicle, a front chamber configured to be deployed forward from an upper side of the seatback to surround the passenger, and an auxiliary chamber configured to be deployed from the front chamber toward a front side of the passenger so as to be positioned between the front chamber and the passenger, and a support tether extending from the seatback and connected to the airbag cushion to support the airbag cushion.
