The invention relates to a catalyst which comprises a carrier substrate, palladium, and a zeolite, the largest channels of which are formed by 10 tetradrically coordinated atoms; to the use of said catalyst as a passive nitrogen oxide adsorber, an exhaust gas system which contains said catalyst and an SCR catalyst, and to a method for purifying the exhaust gas of motor vehicles using said exhaust gas system.
SINGLE BRICK SCR/ASC/PNA/DOC CLOSE-COUPLED CATALYST
A catalyst article including a substrate with an inlet side and an outlet side, a first zone and a second zone, where the first zone includes a passive NOx adsorber (PNA), and an ammonia slip catalyst (ASC) comprising a platinum group metal on a support and a first SCR catalyst; where the second zone includes a catalyst selected from the group consisting of a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and a diesel exotherm catalyst (DEC); and where the first zone is located upstream of the second zone. The first zone may include a bottom layer with a blend of: (1) the platinum group metal on a support and (2) the first SCR catalyst; and a top layer with a second SCR catalyst, the top layer located over the bottom layer.
Combined Soot Filter and Urea Hydrolysis
A monolith filter unit for exhaust gas cleaning combines urea hydrolysis with particle filtering.
Real-time control of reductant droplet spray momentum and in-exhaust spray distribution
A system for controlling reductant spray momentum for a target spray distribution includes an exhaust system having an exhaust conduit with exhaust flowing therethrough, a reductant injection system for injecting reductant into the exhaust flowing through the exhaust system based on one or more injection parameters, a reductant supply system for supplying reductant to the reductant injection system based on one or more supply parameters, and a controller. The controller is configured to access current vehicle, engine, exhaust, or reductant condition parameters, determine one or more control parameters based on a control model and the accessed current vehicle, engine, exhaust, or reductant condition parameters, and modify a value of the one or more injection parameters or the one or more supply parameters to control the reductant spray.
Plugged honeycomb structure
A plugged honeycomb structure, including: a plurality of honeycomb segments, a bonding layer and a circumferential wall disposed to surround circumference of a honeycomb segment bonded body where the plurality of honeycomb segments are bonded, wherein in the bonding layer, the bonding layer at a part that bonds the honeycomb segments disposed in contact with the circumferential wall is a circumferential bonding layer, and the bonding layer at a part that bonds the honeycomb segment including a center of gravity in a cross section orthogonal to the extending direction of cells of the honeycomb segment bonded body or at a position closest to the center of gravity and another honeycomb segment adjacent to the honeycomb segment is a center bonding layer, and a bonding strength A1 of the circumferential bonding layer is larger than a bonding strength A2 of the center bonding layer.
Methods and systems for an exhaust gas aftertreatment device
Methods and systems are provided for an exhaust gas aftertreatment device. In one example, a method may include adjusting one or more engine operating parameters to produce ammonia in an ammonia generating device in response to an ammonia demand.
Exhaust after-treatment system with adjustable flow path, and method for operating such an exhaust after-treatment system
An exhaust after-treatment system includes a first set of exhaust after-treatment components, a second set of exhaust after-treatment components, an inlet to the exhaust after-treatment system, an outlet from the exhaust after-treatment system, and a valve and conduit arrangement configurable in a plurality of modes, in a first mode, exhaust gas entering the inlet flows through the second set of exhaust after-treatment components, then through the first set of exhaust after-treatment components, and then through the outlet. In a second mode, exhaust gas entering the inlet flows through the second set of exhaust after-treatment components without flowing through the first set of exhaust after-treatment components, and then through the outlet in a third mode, exhaust gas entering the inlet flows through the first set of exhaust after-treatment components, then through the second set of exhaust after-treatment components, and then through the outlet.
Work vehicle including diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration control
A work vehicle including a DPF system configured to collect particulate matter contained in exhaust gas from an engine; an SCR system configured to add, to the exhaust gas from the engine a reductant stored in a reductant storage tank to reduce nitrogen oxide contained in the exhaust gas; and a control unit capable of executing a DPF renewal control whereby particulate matter collected and deposited in the DPF system is burned and removed by using the exhaust gas from the engine and an SCR reference operation restricting control to restrict an operating condition of the engine. The SCR reference operation restricting control is executed when an amount of the reductant stored in the reductant storage tank is a preset amount or less, or when an abnormality occurs in the SCR system. The control unit preferentially executes the DPF renewal control over the SCR reference operation restricting control.
