A self-donning nursing gown enables self-donning of a gown while maintaining sterile integrity. The gown provides a pair of shoulder pads having a heavy consistency and grip for gripping the shoulders and maintaining a secure mount on the shoulders. An adhesive panel on a front portion of the gown adheres to the chest area for detachably fastening the gown to the user while the gown is donned. In this manner, the user dons the gown without exposing the hands to a rearward or upwardly disposed non-sterile area, and without assistance from another person. Further, the gown stays on the user without peripheral fastening components. The shoulder pads enable donning of the gown by moving the shoulders in a repetitive up and down motion. The adhesive panel are pressed onto the chest with the sleeves to fasten the gown for use.

The invention relates to a sock (10). The sock (10) has a sole part (100) which is suitable for covering the sole of a foot (1) when the sock (10) is being worn. Furthermore, a toe region (200) of the sock (10) is suitable, together with the sole part (100), for receiving the entire toe region of the foot (1) when the sock (10) is being worn. The sock (10) furthermore comprises an instep part (300) which is suitable for at least partially covering the arch of the foot (1) when the sock (10) is being worn. A heel part (400) of the sock (10) is suitable for covering the heel of the foot (1) when the sock (10) is being worn. The sock (10) comprises an ankle closure part (600) which is suitable for closing the sock (10) in a releasable manner at the ankle of the foot (1) when the sock (10) is being worn.

An over the head gown is provided having a one-way lock for receiving a neck tie strap which facilitates closure of the head opening around the wearer's neck and closure of the rear gap in the back panels of the gown. Initially, the necktie strap is partially inserted through the lock, and then the gown is placed over the wearer's head. The loose end of the strap can then be pulled, without reaching behind the wearer's head or neck, to tighten the head opening and close the gap in the back of the gown. The gown can be removed by detaching the necktie strap or the lock from the gown then pulling the gown from the wearer's body.
