The invention discloses a separation matrix which comprises a plurality of separation ligands, defined by the formula R.sub.1-L.sub.1-N(R.sub.3)-L.sub.2-R, immobilized on a support, wherein R.sub.1 is a five- or six-membered, substituted or non-substituted ring structure or a hydroxyethyl or hydroxypropyl group; L.sub.1 is either a methylene group or a covalent bond; R.sub.2 is a five- or six-membered, substituted or non-substituted ring structure; L.sub.2 is either a methylene group or a covalent bond; R.sub.3 is a methyl group; and wherein if R.sub.1 is a hydroxyethyl group and L.sub.1 is a covalent bond, R.sub.2 is a substituted aromatic ring structure or a substituted or non-substituted aliphatic ring structure.

An article that can be used for biomaterial capture comprises (a) a porous substrate; and (b) borne on the porous substrate, a polymer comprising interpolymerized units of at least one monomer consisting of (1) at least one monovalent ethylenically unsaturated group, (2) at least one monovalent ligand functional group selected from acidic groups, basic groups other than guanidino, and salts thereof, and (3) a multivalent spacer group that is directly bonded to the monovalent groups so as to link at least one ethylenically unsaturated group and at least one ligand functional group by a chain of at least six catenated atoms.
Carbon dioxide adsorbent, method for manufacturing the same, and carbon dioxide processing system
A method for manufacturing a carbon dioxide adsorbent includes preparing an amine aqueous solution having an amine compound concentration ranging from 5% to 70% inclusive and a temperature ranging from 10° C. to 100° C. inclusive, impregnating silica gel with the amine aqueous solution, and aeration-drying the silica gel carrying the amine compound. The silica gel has a particle size ranging from 1 mm to 5 mm inclusive, an average pore diameter ranging from 10 nm to 100 nm inclusive, and a pore volume ranging from 0.1 cm.sup.3/g to 1.3 cm.sup.3/g inclusive.
SOLID-PHASE CHELATOR MATERIAL, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THEREOF AND USE THEREOF FOR THE PURIFICATION OF PROTEINS
A solid-phase chelator material usable for the purification of proteins. The solid-phase chelator material comprises a solid phase, polyamine groups bound to the solid phase and chelating groups bound to the polyamine groups. At least a part of the polyamine groups is connected with at least two chelating groups per polyamine group. Each chelating group comprises one or several aminopolycarboxylic acid groups (APA groups), with the proviso that the number of APA groups per polyamine group connected with at least two cheating groups is at least three.
UREA-IMPREGNATED ZEOLITE SORBENTS AND METHOD FOR MAKING THE SAME
A sorbent suitable for sorbing aldehydes includes acidified zeolite impregnated with a urea-based compound, the acidified zeolite having a pore opening of 5 Å or greater and a molar ratio of silicate to aluminate of at least 1.1:1. The sorbent may be prepared by impregnating acidified zeolite with a solution of a urea-based compound, where the acidified zeolite includes proton counterions. The sorbent may be supported on a filter support to provide an air filter.
Macroporous Controlled Porosity Silica Gel Suitable For Oligonucleotide Synthesis
Disclosed herein is macroporous controlled porosity silica gel (CPSG) covalently modified with a variety of moieties (e.g., moieties suitable for oligonucleotide synthesis comprising a spacer, a linker and a nucleoside, chromophore, ligand or bioconjugation linker, or a spacer and a universal linker). Also disclosed herein are methods of making the covalently-modified, macroporous CPSG, and methods of using the covalently-modified, macroporous CPSG to synthesize oligonucleotides.

The invention concerns methods of treating blood, blood product, or physiologic fluid to provide at least one of (i) increasing shelf life of the blood, blood product or physiologic fluid, (ii) maintaining freshness of new blood, blood product or physiologic fluid, and (iii) removing undesirable molecules from the blood, blood product or physiologic fluid; said method comprising contacting said blood, blood product or physiologic fluid with a sorbent, said sorbent being primarily in a plurality of solid forms and comprising a cross-linked polymeric material having a plurality of at least one of (1) zwitterionic moieties and (2) oligo(ethylene glycol) moieties attached to the surface of said cross-linked polymeric material.
SORBENT MATERIAL FOR REMOVING CONTAMINANTS FROM WATER
Provided is a composition for removal of a target substance from a fluid stream, the composition comprising a support material comprising cellulose; and a sorbent molecule that comprises a linear or branched polyamine having a molecular weight of less than 500. The polyamine is covalently linked to the support material, and the sorbent molecule further comprises a covalently linked hydrophobic group. Also provided are processes for removal of a target substance from a fluid stream comprising contacting the fluid stream with such composition, and methods of making such compositions.
