VEHICLE WINDOW CLEANING
A system includes a computer including a processor and a memory, the memory storing instructions executable by the processor to actuate a windshield wiper on a vehicle, collect amplitude data and frequency data from a sound of the windshield wiper, and, upon determining that the amplitude data meets a first predetermined threshold and the frequency data meets a second predetermined threshold, actuate a vehicle component to move the vehicle to a specified location.

Rain sensor system, vehicle and method for detecting rain
A rain sensor system (1) for detecting rain on a window (101) of a vehicle (100), comprising: a camera device (2) configured to capture images (14) of an area surrounding the vehicle (100) which is located in a field of view (103) of the camera device (2); and multiple rain sensors (5) which are arranged on the window (101) and at least partially in the field of view (103) of the camera device (2), each rain sensor (5) comprising: a light guide (7) which is configured to guide light from a light source (6) to a 10 light injection point (8) at which the light is injected into the window (101), and a receiver (9) configured to receive the light injected into the window (101) and guided to the receiver (9) through the window (101), and to guide the received light to the camera device (2).
Liquid-droplet detecting apparatus, liquid-droplet detecting method, and computer-readable recording medium
A water-droplet detecting apparatus according to an embodiment includes a setting unit, a first extraction unit, a second extraction unit, and a determination unit. The setting unit sets concentric circles having a center at arbitrary one point of a captured image of an image capturing unit. The first extraction unit extracts candidate pixels based on gradients of pixels on a circumference of each of the concentric circles. The candidate pixels are candidates for pixels that are estimated to indicate a water droplet adhered to the image capturing unit. The second extraction unit extracts one or more candidate circles based on the candidate pixels extracted by the first extraction unit. The one or more candidate circles are candidates for circles that indicate a shape of the water droplet. The determination unit determines whether or not the water droplet is adhered based on an extraction result of the second extraction unit.
PREDICTIVE WINDSHIELD WIPER SYSTEM
A windshield-wiper system includes a precipitation-detector, a windshield-wiper actuator, an object-detector, and a controller. The precipitation-detector detects precipitation proximate to a host-vehicle. The windshield-wiper actuator clears the precipitation from a windshield of the host-vehicle. The object-detector detects a distance of an object to the host-vehicle. The controller is in communication with the precipitation-detector, the windshield-wiper actuator, and the object-detector. The controller determines when the precipitation is present based on the precipitation-detector, determines the distance from the object to the host-vehicle based on the object-detector, and adjusts a speed of the windshield-wiper actuator when the precipitation is detected and the object is less than a distance-threshold away from the host-vehicle.
Total-reflection-type rain sensor using mirror
The present invention relates to a total reflection type rain sensor using a mirror, which is attached to a glass of a vehicle to detect raindrops falling onto the glass of the vehicle and outputs a signal capable of controlling speed and cycle of a wiper of the vehicle according to the amount and falling frequency of raindrops detected.
VISION SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE
A vehicular vision system includes a driver-side exterior mirror assembly, a passenger-side mirror assembly and an interior mirror assembly. The fields of view of the mirror reflective elements of the exterior mirror assemblies are adjustable by the driver via a respective actuator. The exterior mirror assemblies include respective cameras that each have a respective rearward field of view that supplements the field of view of the mirror reflective element when viewed by the driver of the vehicle. A video display is disposed behind the mirror reflector of an interior mirror reflective element such that displayed video images are viewable through the mirror reflector of the interior mirror reflective element. The video display includes a driver-side display portion and a passenger-side display portion that each display images derived from image data captured by the respective camera while not displaying images derived from image data captured by the other camera.
Vehicle lamp system, foreign substance determination device, and foreign substance determination method
A vehicle lamp system includes: a vehicle lamp that emits light to a front area of a vehicle thereby forming a predetermined light distribution pattern; an imaging device that captures an image of the front area of the vehicle; and a foreign substance determination device including a storage unit that stores a light distribution pattern formed in the front area by the vehicle lamp in a state where no foreign substance adheres to a light emitting surface as a reference pattern, and a determination unit that compares a light distribution pattern captured by the imaging device with the reference pattern and determines whether a foreign substance adheres to the light emitting surface based on a determination result.
Speckle detection systems, image capturing devices and methods
The present disclosure relates to a speckles detection system for detecting one or more speckles on a surface of an optical element of an image capturing device. The system comprises: one or more light sources configured to emit a light beam towards the optical element, the optical element being configured to reflect light from the light sources when speckles are located on the surface of the optical element. The system further comprises one or more light receivers configured to receive the light beam reflected by the optical elements such that speckles on the surface of the optical elements are detected. Methods for detecting one or more speckles on a surface of an optical element of an image capturing device are also provided.
