SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REDUCTION OF TOTAL ORGANIC COMPOUNDS IN WASTEWATER
A system for purifying wastewater comprising the reduction of total organic compounds in wastewater is disclosed. Chemical reducing agents are brought into contact with polluted water and through dynamically stable anode induced electro-coagulation and flotation removing natural organic material and biorefractory pollutants, decreasing competing organic matter for a secondary oxidizing step, where acids oxidize the processed wastewater through series of reactor tubes for the reduction of total organic compounds.
Method and system for providing ultrapure water with flexible lamp configuration
A method and system of providing ultrapure water for semiconductor fabrication operations is provided. The water is treated by utilizing a free radical scavenging system. The free radical scavenging system can utilize actinic radiation with a free radical precursor compound, such as ammonium persulfate. The ultrapure water may be further treated by utilizing ion exchange media and degasification apparatus. A control system can be utilized to regulate a continuously variable intensity of the actinic radiation.
REMOVAL OF BENZENE FROM WATER USING ALUMINUM OXIDE IMPREGNATED CARBON NANOTUBES ENHANCED
A method for removing benzene from water, by mixing aluminum oxide nanoparticle-impregnated multi-walled carbon nanotubes with a solution containing water and benzene to obtain a suspension containing the aluminum oxide nanoparticle-impregnated multi-walled carbon nanotubes, the water and the benzene, and then applying ultraviolet light to the suspension and stirring the suspension to remove at least a portion of the benzene from water.
METHOD FOR TREATING ORGANIC WASTE BY HYDROTHERMAL OXIDATION
The present invention relates to a method for treating waste comprising at least one organic phase, said method comprising the following consecutive steps: a) preparation of an oil-in-water emulsion with controlled TOD using waste to be treated comprising at least one organic phase, by mixing said waste with an aqueous phase in a mixer, preferably with high shear; b) possible adjustment of the TOD of the emulsion obtained in step a); and c) hydrothermal oxidation, under subcritical or supercritical starting conditions, of the emulsion thus obtained. The present invention also relates to a facility suitable for implementing the method for treating waste comprising at least one organic phase according to the invention.
PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING SPENT CAUSTIC SOLUTION
A process for treating a spent caustic solution and an apparatus for treating a spent caustic solution. The treatment provides an environmentally acceptable solution for discharge into a conventional wastewater treatment plant or for further processing. A spent caustic solution enters a reactor and is cycled through the reactor and into a process liquid line where it is contacted with ozone and with carbon dioxide to form a treated solution of pH 7.0 to 11.0.
COAGULATION CONTROL METHOD AND SYSTEM
A method of automatically controlling contaminant coagulation includes receiving, by a controller, measurement signals from a plurality of sensors including a turbidity meter that measures turbidity upstream of a coagulation tank, a first spectrophotometer that measures light absorbance upstream of the coagulation tank, a pH meter that measures a pH upstream of the coagulation tank, a temperature probe that measures a temperature upstream of the coagulation tank, a second spectrophotometer that measures light absorbance downstream of a sedimentation tank, and a trihalomethane (THM) sensor that measures a THM level downstream of the sedimentation tank. The controller determines, based at least on the measurement signals from the sensors, a coagulant dose to be administered to the fluid stream in the coagulation tank to obtain a contaminant level below a predetermined threshold value, and causes the determined coagulant dose to be administered to the fluid stream at the coagulation tank.
Digestion of organic sludge
The invention is in the field of organic sludge digestion from various sources, such as manure, sludge from a wastewater treatment plant, and an organic fraction of dredging sludge. The present method provides advanced control for serially treating aqueous organic sludge by anaerobic digestion. It further relates to dewatering of the obtained biomass.
Treatment of azoles
Methods of treating CMP wastewater comprising azoles are disclosed. The method includes providing the wastewater having a first azole concentration, introducing the wastewater to an inlet of a wastewater treatment system constructed and arranged to produce and introduce free radicals into the wastewater, and activating the wastewater treatment system to produce and introduce the free radicals into the wastewater in an amount sufficient to reduce the azole concentration in the wastewater and produce treated water having a second azole concentration, less than the first azole concentration. Methods of facilitating treatment of CMP wastewater comprising azoles by providing a water treatment system constructed and arranged to produce and introduce free radicals into the wastewater are disclosed.
WATER TREATMENT MANAGEMENT APPARATUS, WATER TREATMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, AND WATER TREATMENT METHOD
