The present invention relates to a method for electrochemical purification of an aqueous solution comprising the steps of: providing a cathode and an anode to an aqueous solution, wherein said aqueous solution comprises soluble ions of at least one toxic heavy metal and wherein said cathode comprises an outer surface, which outer surface comprises a noble metal; applying an absolute potential to said cathode and wherein said absolute potential of said cathode drives the formation of an alloy comprising said noble metal and said at least one toxic heavy metal.
Measuring magnetite buildup in a magnetic filter
A magnetite level monitoring device for a magnetic filter in a central heating system, the magnetic filter including a separation chamber, an inlet to the chamber and an outlet from the chamber, and a magnetic element disposed within the chamber for attracting magnetic particles and removing the magnetic particles from the system water as it flows through the chamber, and the monitoring device including: a housing for placing adjacent to the outside of the separation chamber; a magnetometer mounted to the housing; a magnetic field guide mounted to the housing, the magnetic field guide being disposed between the magnetometer and the outside of the separation chamber, when the housing is mounted to the separation chamber; and output means adapted to issue a notification when the output from the magnetometer exceeds a predetermined threshold.
Graphene reinforced polystyrene composite for separation of nonpolar compounds from water
A composite material of polyurethane foam having a layer of reduced graphene oxide and polystyrene is described. This composite material may be made by contacting a polyurethane foam with a suspension of reduced graphene oxide, drying, and then irradiating in the presence of styrene vapor. The composite material has a hydrophobic surface that may be exploited for separating a nonpolar phase, such as oil, from an aqueous solution.
Water treatment control system
A water treatment control system includes an aerobic tank in which aerobic treatment is carried out, an aerobic tank aeration device that aerates to-be-treated water in the aerobic tank, a membrane filtration tank including a separation membrane that filters the to-be-treated water treated in the aerobic tank, a membrane filtration tank measurement instrument that measures the ammonia concentration of the to-be-treated water in the membrane filtration tank, as a membrane filtration tank ammonia concentration measurement value, and an aerobic tank aeration air volume calculation device that sets the aerobic tank aeration air volume of the aerobic tank aeration device on the basis of the membrane filtration tank ammonia concentration measurement value.
Integrated filtration and gas floatation water treatment system and process
A compact, portable system and process separates dissolved and suspended solids from water containing high levels of those solids. Gas flotation is used with and oxidant as an initial stage. The resulting foam is dewatered in a fluid conveyance, with the gas being recycled to the flotation column, the foam sent to a holding tank and the water passed through one of a number of filtration vessels having granular filter media. As at least one filtration vessel is kept in operation filtering, another filtration vessel can be backwashed when the flow therethrough is diminished of the fluid level inside rises. Treated water is used for backwashing and provided to a collection conduit.
Physicochemical water treatment process using microfiber filter coated with coagulant
The present disclosure provides a physicochemical water treatment process using a microfiber filter coated with a coagulant, including: a) performing a pressurized filtration by supplying raw water to an upper portion of a pressurized microfiber filtering device including a microfiber filter coated with a coagulant; b) backwashing the microfiber filter by supplying backwashing water and air from a lower portion of the microfiber filtering device; and c) after the backwashing of the microfiber filter is completed, coating the microfiber filter with the coagulant by supplying the coagulant together with the backwashing water, wherein backwashing wastewater of the pressurized microfiber filtering device is concentrated by the suction type microfiber filter coated with the coagulant and transferred to a dehydrator.
Method for Treating Water to Reduce the Dissolved Silica Content Thereof
Method for treating water to reduce the dissolved silica content thereof, the method being characterised in that it comprises at least one step of adsorbing the dissolved silica, the step consisting in passing the water through a reactor housing an adsorbent granular material consisting of grains of iron hydroxide (III) and/or iron oxyhydroxide (III) and at least one step of regenerating the adsorbing power of the granular material, the step consisting in bringing the granular material into contact with a base and at least one chloride.
Sand Filter LED Status Light
A system for treating water for use in aquatics or recreational facilities is disclosed. The system includes a media filter vessel, a pressure sensor, and a monochromatic light source. A method of treating water for use in aquatics or recreational facilities is also disclosed. The method includes fluidly connecting a media filter vessel to a source of water for use in aquatics or recreational facilities, illuminating a media inside the media filter vessel, observing a monochromatic light source display a first indicator and observing a monochromatic light source display a second indicator. A method of retrofitting a media filter vessel is also disclosed. The method includes installing a pressure sensor on the media filter vessel, installing a monochromatic light source and operably connecting the monochromatic light source to a manual control and to the pressure sensor.
