Method for producing fluorine-containing polymer
Provided is a method for producing a fluoropolymer in the presence of a specific non-fluorinated compound having surface activity. The method shows a high polymerization rate, and suppresses formation of sticking polymerization materials after production of a polymer product. The method includes aqueous dispersion polymerization of a fluoroolefin in the presence of a compound (1) represented by formula (1): ##STR00001## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are the same as or different from each other, and each represent a C4 to C12 non-fluorinated saturated hydrocarbon group; and M is an alkali metal, an ammonium salt, or an amine salt.

Anionic surfactants have a formula: R.sub.fSO.sub.2N(H)CH.sub.2CH(CH.sub.3)OH; or R.sub.fSO.sub.2N(H)(CH.sub.2CH.sub.2O).sub.xH, where x is an integer from 2-6. R.sub.f is a fluoroalkyl group having 3 to 8 carbon atoms. Neutral surfactants having a formula: (a) R.sub.fSO.sub.2N[CH.sub.2CH(CH.sub.3)OH].sub.2; (b) R.sub.fSO.sub.2N[CH.sub.2CH(CH.sub.3)OH][(CH.sub.2CH.sub.2O).sub.nH], where n is an integer from 1-6; (c) R.sub.fSO.sub.2N(R)[(CH.sub.2CH.sub.2O).sub.pH], where p is an integer from 2-6, and R is an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; or (d) R.sub.fSO.sub.2N[(CH.sub.2CH.sub.2O).sub.qH][(CH.sub.2CH.sub.2O).sub.mH], where q is an integer from 1-6 and m is an integer from 3-6. R.sub.f is a fluoroalkyl group having 3 to 8 carbon atoms.

Method of making fluoropolymers with a polyiodide, compositions and articles thereof
Described herein is a method of making a fluoropolymer and fluoropolymers thereof, wherein the method comprises: (a) providing an aqueous solution comprising a water soluble polyiodide salt of Formula (I): M.sup.+y[II(I).sub.n].sub.y.sup. wherein M is a cation group having a valence y, y is an integer of at least 1 and n is an integer of at least 1; and (b) initiating polymerization of a monomer in the aqueous solution, wherein the monomer is a fluorinated monomer.

Described herein is a method of making a fluoropolymer and fluoropolymers thereof, wherein the method comprises: (a) providing an aqueous solution comprising a water soluble polyiodide salt of Formula (I): M.sup.+y[II(I).sub.n].sub.y.sup. wherein M is a cation group having a valence y, y is an integer of at least 1 and n is an integer of at least 1; and (b) initiating polymerization of a monomer in the aqueous solution, wherein the monomer is a fluorinated monomer.
