The central container holds a small heating pad to attract the bedbugs and to heat the water and yeast mixture to aid in the fermentation. A hose with a water trap system brings the generated carbon dioxide from the upper chamber to the bottom chamber. This chamber sits in a bowl that has a rough exterior and a smooth interior. Holes, formed around the base of the bottom chamber allow the carbon dioxide to escape into the room, which attracts the bedbugs. The assembled unit is large, to trap as many bedbugs as possible in the shortest amount of time. Finally, the water, sugar and yeast are common household items that are easily and cheaply replenished as needed.

As such, the at least one LED light bar emits light that attracts insects to enter through the plurality of holes of the housing to get stuck to the sticky board.

A computer-implemented method for monitoring disease vectors is disclosed. A vector sensor obtains vector data relating to disease vectors in a monitored area. An environmental data obtaining component obtains environmental data relating to the monitored area. Based on at least one of the vector data and the environmental data, a population characteristic component may estimate or determine a vector population characteristic associated with the monitored area. A structural data obtaining component may obtain structural data relating to the monitored area. A vector travel estimation component may estimate or determine a vector travel characteristic. The vector characteristic may be indicative of predicted disease vector movement from outdoors to indoors in the monitored area and may allow for or facilitate a vector control action based at least partially on the vector travel characteristic. A device and a system for monitoring disease vectors are also disclosed.

An insect detection system includes a plurality of traps comprising an attraction source, a communication module, a motion sensor, and one or more environmental sensors. The insect detection system includes a plurality of accelerometers configured to measure vibrations in a tree and is electronically coupled with at least one of the plurality of traps, and one or more power controllers, where each of the power controllers supplies electrical energy to one or more traps and one or more accelerometers. The insect detection system includes a server computer having a processor and a computer readable medium, wherein the server computer is in communication with each trap of the plurality of traps and is configured to receive environmental data from each of the plurality of traps and vibration data from each of the plurality of accelerometers.

System to Sterilize a Physical Space

A system for sterilizing a physical space, such as a hotel room. The system generates and distributes heated air to the physical space to elevate the temperature of the space to a level sufficient to achieve a desired sterilization effect of eradicating insects and microoganisms. The system is portable and self-contained. The system includes a hydrogen fuel cell that generates electrical power. An electrical system conditions and stores the electrical power and supplies stored electrical power to the system components and peripherals. System components include a source of hydrogen, a heater, an air distributor, and a filter. Peripherals include a UV light source and an aerosol dispenser. The combination of heat, UV light and aerosol disinfectant effectively eradicates insects, microorganisms, allergens, and odors in the physical space.
