PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF AN ADDITIVE FOR BITUMINOUS CONGLOMERATES WITH HIGH MECHANICAL PERFORMANCES
The present invention refers to a process for the production of an additive composition intended to be mixed into a bituminous conglomerate for road paving. The process includes grinding a mixed waste material containing a mixture of plastic materials, which includes at least one plastic material based on a polyolefin thermoplastic material, washing the ground mixed waste material and separating a portion of low-density material which contains the plastic material based on a polyolefin thermoplastic polymer from the mixed waste material. This portion of low-density material is then ground to a particle size between 10 mm and 20 mm; and then mixed with a material based on polyvinyl butyral. The resultant mixture is further ground to produce an additive composition having a particle size between 4 mm and 6 mm.
RECYCLED PET FOAM MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A recycled PET foam material and a manufacturing method thereof are characterized in that a recycled material can be used. The manufacturing method includes the following steps: uniformly mixing PET resin, chain extender, antioxidant, flame retardant and heat stabilizer, and then mixing with a twin-screw extruder to obtain a foam PET resin. The PET foaming material obtained is a material having the advantages of light weight, large rigidity, high specific strength, good electrical insulation, good sound insulation and the like, low raw material cost, simple manufacturing process and environmental protection.
Methods of producing foam structures from recycled metallized polyolefin material
A physically crosslinked, closed cell continuous foam structure derived from recycled metallized polyolefin material; polypropylene, polyethylene, or combinations thereof, a crosslinking agent, and a chemical blowing agent is obtained. The foam structure is obtained by extruding a structure comprising a foam composition, irradiating the extruded structure with ionizing radiation, and continuously foaming the irradiated structure.
PERMEABLE PAVEMENT SYSTEM INCLUDING A PERMEABLE PAVEMENT COMPOSITION AND A RELATED METHOD
A permeable pavement system including a permeable pavement composition and a related method are provided. The permeable pavement system includes a first layer of a permeable pavement composition including a quantity of a first permeable pavement material and a quantity of cured carbon fiber composite material (CCFCM) incorporated therewith, the first layer defining a first surface; and a second layer of a second permeable pavement material deposited over a substantial entirety of and covering the first surface of the first layer of the permeable pavement composition, wherein the first layer interfaces with the second layer to at least strengthen the permeable pavement system.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR THE HIGH-PRESSURE TREATMENT OF BULK MATERIAL BY EXTRACTION AND/OR IMPREGNATION AND USE
Devices and methods for the high-pressure treatment of bulk material by extraction and/or impregnation. The bulk material is arranged in the interior volume of a pressure vessel device and is treated at a high pressure while sealed off from the surroundings. The high-pressure treatment is performed batchwise in a closed system in the pressure vessel device in a pressure-tight fashion. The bulk material is fed batchwise to the interior volume with the pressure vessel device closed and being arranged on at least one treatment level and, after the high-pressure treatment has occurred, being discharged batchwise from the interior volume with the pressure vessel device closed. The invention furthermore relates to the use of a supporting tray module with at least one treatment level for the high-pressure treatment in a closed system.
AMORPHOUS POLYESTER COMPOSITION AND METHOD OF MAKING
An amorphous polyester or copolyester composition comprises the reaction product of a crystalline or semicrystalline polyester or copolyester, optionally derived from a recycled waste stream, at least one diol or aromatic diacid or an ester of a diacid or a hydroxycarboxylic acid or a lactone or a dianhydride, and a catalyst, wherein the amorphous composition has a weight average molecular weight of at least 10,000 g/mol (polystyrene equivalent molecular weight) as measured by gel permeation chromatography.
System and method for recycling and recapture of bio-based plastics
A method for reclaiming bio-based plastic material is disclosed, including providing a bio-based plastic article, the article including an identifier, determining article content information from or via the identifier, and recycling the article based on article content information. Further, a system for reclaiming bio-based plastic material is disclosed, including an apparatus or device configured to obtain or determine a bio-based material content associated with a plastic article, and an apparatus or device configured to sort the plastic article based upon the bio-based material content of the plastic article. A bio-based plastic article comprising recycled bio-based material is also disclosed.
Process for forming a solid fuel composition from mixed solid waste
Systems and methods of producing a solid fuel composition are disclosed. In particular, systems and methods for producing a solid fuel composition by heating and mixing a solid waste mixture below atmospheric pressure to a maximum temperature sufficient to melt the mixed plastics within the solid waste mixture is disclosed.
Composite material composition and a method of forming a composite material composition
A material composition including a matrix including a first material, the matrix including a plurality of voids disposed in the matrix, two or more voids being spaced apart from each other, a plurality of elongate fibers of a second material located within the matrix, wherein the plurality of fibers are configured to reinforce the matrix and, wherein the material composition is a composite material composition.
Encapsulation of Modifiers in Depolymerized Products
A method of encapsulating modifiers in a depolymerized product is disclosed. In some embodiments the material undergoing depolymerization is one of polypropylene, polystyrene, and/or polyethylene. In some embodiments, the material is composed, at least partially, of recycled material. In some embodiments, the encapsulated modifiers are added to a formulation such as an asphalt, plastic lumber, plastic wood composite, a plastic formulation, a rubber formulation, an ink formulation, a coating formulation, and/or an adhesive formulation.
