Inter-penetrating elastomer network derived from ground tire rubber particles
Crumb rubber obtained from recycled tires is subjected to an interlinked substitution process. The process utilizes a reactive component that interferes with sulfur bonds. The resulting treated rubber exhibits properties similar to those of the virgin composite rubber structure prior to being granulated, and is suitable for use in fabricating new tires, engineered rubber articles, and asphalt rubber for use in waterproofing and paving applications.

POLYMER LATEX
The present invention relates to a polymer latex comprising: (A) particles of a latex polymer (A) obtainable by free-radical emulsion polymerization of a mixture of ethylenically unsaturated monomers the latex polymer comprising a plurality of functional groups (x); and (B) a compound bearing a beta-hydroxy ester linkage and at least one additional functional group (y) reactive with the functional groups (x) on latex polymer (A),to a method for preparation of said polymer latex, to its use, to a method for dip-molding and to articles obtained from the latex.
Charging member, charging device, process cartridge, and image forming apparatus
A charging member includes a conductive base material; an elastic layer that is provided on the conductive base material and has a storage elastic modulus G of 5.0 MPa or less at 100 Hz; and a surface layer that is provided on the elastic layer, in which in a Cole-Cole plot obtained by measuring the charging member in a range of 1 MHz to 0.1 Hz by an alternating current impedance method, a resistance component Ra of a capacitive semicircle including 2.5 kHz is 6.3×104Ω or less.

Vapor mitigation barriers
Compositions for forming an improved vapor mitigation barrier are contemplated, such compositions being formed as an aqueous mixture of an asphalt component and a latex component, with the latex component including a chemically resistant latex, the chemically resistant latex being an acrylonitrile butadiene copolymer, an elastomeric fluoropolymer, or both. Such compositions, when cured and formed into a vapor mitigation barrier, may be seen to substantially mitigate diffusion of chlorinated hydrocarbons across the barriers. Also contemplated are methods for forming such vapor mitigation barriers, as well as vapor mitigation barrier products formed via the application of such compositions to various substrates.
Slidable rubber material having an amino-modified interfacial modification layer, and method for producing said slidable rubber material
A slidable rubber material that has an amino-modified interfacial layer that does not affect the compression set. Although the slidable rubber material includes a rubber component such as a butyl rubber or halogenated butyl rubber etc. having the low-compression set, which contains a vulcanization agent such as a nitrogen/sulfur compound or a vulcanizing auxiliary agent, the rubber part is coated with a silicone rubber layer. The slidable rubber material exhibits a slidability and resists the detachment or elution of fine particles from the coating layer. A rubber component and a vulcanization agent; an interfacial modification layer that coats the rubber part and an amino-modified silicone compound is incorporated with surface molecules of the rubber part; and a layer that coats the interfacial modification and contains solid fine particles, an addition-type or condensation-type silicone rubber in which the particles are dispersed, and a curing catalyst for silicone rubber.

Composition for gas seal member and method of producing same, gas seal member for high-pressure hydrogen device, and high-pressure hydrogen device
Provided is a composition for a gas seal member that can form a gas seal member for a high-pressure hydrogen device that is capable of sufficiently inhibiting both swelling destruction and blister destruction. The composition for a gas seal member is a composition for a gas seal member used in a high-pressure hydrogen environment and contains an elastomer and fibrous carbon nanostructures. The fibrous carbon nanostructures are contained in a proportion of not less than 1 part by mass and not more than 10 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the elastomer. An area fraction S (%) of aggregates of the fibrous carbon nanostructures in a cross-section of the composition for a gas seal member and a volume percentage V (volume %) of the fibrous carbon nanostructures in the composition for a gas seal member satisfy a relationship 0≤S/V≤2.0.
