CONTROLLED REACTION RATES OF THERMOCHEMICAL FLUIDS USING EMULSIONS

Compositions containing a first reactant; an emulsion comprising a surfactant and silicon dioxide (SiO.sub.2) nanoparticles; and a carrier fluid containing a second reactant and methods of making. When the first and second reactants react, they generate heat. At a first time, the emulsion surrounds the first reactant, and the carrier fluid with the second reactant surrounds the emulsion. At a second time, the emulsion surrounds a first portion of the first reactant; and a second portion of the first reactant surrounds the emulsion.

CARBONATE-BASED SOLVENTS FOR SCALE-SQUEEZE ENHANCEMENT

A scale inhibitor squeeze treatment is enhanced by injecting a pre-flush solution into a wellbore, where the pre-flush solution includes at least one organic carbonate solvent, such as a dialkyl carbonate and/or a cyclic carbonate. The use of an organic carbonate solvent can help prevent the pre-flush solution emulsion formation, help avoid water-blocking, and enhance scale inhibitor adsorption. The use of an organic carbonate solvent also permits the pre-flush solution to be free of water, in one non-limiting embodiment.

Dispersion composition, dispersion and ink composition, and method of producing the same

There are provided a dispersion composition containing: (A) from 85 to 99.89% by weight of a dispersant (except for the following (B) and (C)); (B) from 0.01 to 5% by weight of an acetylene glycol and/or an acetylene glycol ethoxylate; and (C) from 0.1 to 10% by weight of one or two or more types selected from polyoxy (ethylene-propylene) block polymers having a weight average molecular weight of from 1,500 to 20,000, a content of ethylene oxide of from 20 to 90% by weight, and a content of propylene oxide of from 10 to 80% by weight: a dispersion and an ink composition using the same, and a method of producing the same.

Non-linear surfactant
11273422 · 2022-03-15 · ·

A non-linear surfactant, and particularly a non-linear surfactant comprising bi-functionalized molecules or particles having both hydrophobic and hydrophilic groups. The non-linear surfactant includes a nanoparticle template of a rigid molecular structure, wherein the nanoparticle comprises a molecule or a particle that is bi-functionalized with both hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups to obtain an amphiphilic nanoparticle. The template nanoparticle can be used as a surfactant, wetting agent, emulsifier, detergent or other surface active agents or for the preparation of nanoemulsions or dispersions. The non-linear surfactant can provide smaller particle sizes for emulsion suspensions and foams.

Spacer fluids and cement slurries that include surfactants

A well bore cementing system may comprise a spacer fluid and a cement slurry. The spacer fluid may be positioned within a well bore, and the spacer fluid may comprise a first surfactant package comprising one or more surfactants. The cement slurry may be positioned within the well bore, and the cement slurry may comprise a second surfactant package comprising one or more surfactants.

Methods of using drilling fluid compositions with enhanced rheology

Drilling fluid compositions include a base fluid, at least one additive chosen from an emulsifier, weighting material, fluid-loss additive, viscosifier, or alkali compound, and from 0.1 wt. % to 1 wt. %, based on total weight of the drilling fluid composition, of an ethoxylated alcohol compound having the formula R—(OCH.sub.2CH.sub.2).sub.7—OH, in which R is a saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched hydrocarbyl group having from 8 to 20 carbon atoms. The base fluid may be an aqueous base fluid. Methods for drilling a subterranean well include operating a drill in a wellbore in the presence of a drilling fluid composition including the base fluid, the additive, and the ethoxylated alcohol compound.

Spacer fluid compositions that include surfactants

In one embodiment, a spacer fluid may comprise a base fluid and a surfactant package. The surfactant package may comprise one or more surfactants, where the surfactant package comprises a first surfactant having the chemical structure R—(OC.sub.2H.sub.4).sub.x—OH. R may be a hydrocarbyl group having from 9 to 20 carbon atoms, and x may be an integer from 5 and 15. The first surfactant may have a hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) of from 12 to 13.5.

Lubricants for water-based drilling fluids

Embodiments are directed to a lubricant package for water based drilling fluids. The lubricant package includes water, a polyethylene glycol, and a lubricating agent. The lubricating agent includes triethanolamine, or a C.sub.12-C.sub.14 alcohol ethoxylate, or a combination of triethanolamine and C.sub.12-C.sub.14 alcohol ethoxylate. The weight ratio of the polyethylene glycol to the lubricating agent in the lubricant package is from 1:2 to 2:1. Embodiments are also directed to a water-based drilling fluid composition including an aqueous base fluid, one or more additives, and the lubricant package for water based drilling fluids.
