PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A DIESEL FUEL BY OLIGOMERIZATION
Processes for oligomerizing olefins to produce diesel. The oligomerization zone temperature is controlled to counteract catalyst deactivation caused by coking, by contaminants such as cyclo C5 and/or cyclo C6 hydrocarbons, or both. The temperature is increased in increments to ensure that that the oligomerization zone is producing product at a target product yield with a target product quality, which may be measured by a product cetane number. The target product yield is at least 50 wt % and a target product cetane number may be at least 35.
Process and apparatus for purifying a fatty mixture and related products including fuels
There is described a process and an apparatus for purifying a mixture and related products. In particular, there is described a process and an apparatus for purifying a mixture comprising fats, oils and greases as are typically found in sewer waste. The process involves heating, acidifying and separating the mixture. The apparatus used includes a heating and separation device for separating into a solid fraction, an organic liquid fraction and an aqueous liquid fraction. Apparatus such as a three phase separation unit and a rotary vacuum filter may also be used.
Method of transforming biomass into hydrocarbon
A method is provided to transform biomass. Non-food biomass is preprocessed. Then, fermentation is processed to generate ethanol. Ethanol is dehydrated through a catalyst to generate ethylene. After the dehydration, oligomerization is processed with a catalyst to transform ethylene into olefins having 6˜20 carbon atoms (C.sub.6˜C.sub.20). The olefins are hydrotreated into alkanes. Thus, C.sub.6˜C.sub.20 hydrocarbons having long carbon chains are formed. The hydrocarbons having 6˜10 carbon atoms can be used as gasoline; those having 8˜16 carbon atoms, jet fuel; and those having 16˜20 carbon atoms, diesel. On generating ethanol, byproducts of lignin may be generated. The byproducts can be processed through depolymerization/deoxygenation to generate aromatic hydrocarbons or can be gasified to generate methanol or dimethyl ether. By further processing dehydration, aromatic hydrocarbons are generated to be mixed into gasoline, jet fuel or diesel. Or, the lignin byproducts are gasified to generate syngas.
Systems and methods for preparing and co-processing biocrude oil
The present application generally relates to catalytically preparing liquid fuel products with an improved product mix by co-processing a plurality of reactants in in refinery or field-upgrading operations. The reactants may include, for example, petroleum fraction and a biocrude oil having an alcohol additive.
PROCESSES FOR OBTAINING SUBSTANCES FROM BARK AND A COMPOSITION CONTAINING BARK FOR USE IN THE PROCESSES
Processes for obtaining substances from bark, especially bark high in suberin and lignin, which substances can be used for preparing biofuels are disclosed. The processes use a solvent system for dissolving the substances, which system can be recycled in the process. The solvent system comprises a base selected from tertiary aliphatic amines A composition comprising bark and the solvent system, which can be used in the processes, is also disclosed.
CONVERSION OF OXGENATES IN PURGE FROM RAW METHANOL EVAPORATOR
The invention relates to a processes comprising the steps of: in an evaporator forming a gas phase methanol rich stream from a feed stream; withdrawing a liquid purge stream from the evaporator, said liquid purge stream comprising oxygenates and water; providing the gas phase methanol rich stream to a conversion step; and adding at least part of said liquid purge stream upstream the conversion step.
Process for producing diesel
A process and apparatus are disclosed for hydrocracking hydrocarbon feed in a hydrocracking unit and hydrotreating a diesel product from the hydrocracking unit in a hydrotreating unit. The hydrocracking unit and the hydrotreating unit share the same recycle gas compressor. A make-up hydrogen stream may also be compressed in the recycle gas compressor. A warm separator separates recycle gas and hydrocarbons from diesel in the hydrotreating effluent, so fraction of the diesel is relatively simple. The warm separator also keeps the diesel product separate from the more sulfurous diesel in the hydrocracking effluent, and still retains heat needed for fractionation of lighter components from the low sulfur diesel product.
Diesel and jet fuels based on the oligomerization of butene
A renewable biofuel based on a highly efficient batch catalysis methodology for conversion of 1-butene to a new class of potential jet fuel blends. By tuning the catalyst and then using the dimer produced, the carbon use is about 95% or greater. This latter point will be particularly important in the future, where the source of raw materials (i.e., biomass/biofeedstock) is limited.
Process for oligomerization of gasoline to make diesel
A first oligomerization stream is oligomerized over a first catalyst in a first oligomerization reactor zone to make oligomerate. An oligomerate stream is separated to provide a heavy oligomerate boiling in the diesel range and a second oligomerization feed stream. The latter is fed to a second oligomerization reactor zone with a second different catalyst to produce the heavy oligomerate.
FUEL-OIL REFINING DEVICE
The present invention is characterized by comprising: a main unit which incorporates a fuel-inflow port for fuel oil supply, a fuel-discharge port for discharging fuel oil that has finished being refined and a drainage discharge pipe for collecting and discharging untreated fuel oil, and a sludge box for storing sludge that has been separated out from the fuel oil; an ultrasound tank which receives fuel oil supplied from the fuel-inflow port, and adjusts the particle size of the fuel oil and the viscosity and surface tension of the fuel oil by means of ultrasound; a vacuum chamber which receives fuel oil supplied from the ultrasound tank, and of which the inside is maintained in a vacuum state such that the specific volume and the surface area of the fuel oil are maximized via a baffle panel; a water-fraction elimination tank of which one side is connected to the vacuum chamber and the other side is connected to a vacuum pump, and which eliminates the water fraction from the fuel oil by using air heated to a high temperature and the reduced pressure of the vacuum state created due to the vacuum chamber; an oil-refining filter which receives fuel oil supplied from the vacuum chamber and filters the received supply of fuel oil by means of centrifugation so as to trap sludge contained in the fuel oil; an ion chamber which eliminates and bums particles including fine foreign matter remaining in the fuel oil in the state after the sludge has been eliminated; and a control panel which is constituted on one surface of the main unit, sets the operating conditions of the ultrasound tank, vacuum chamber and water-fraction elimination tank, and controls whether to provide power for refining the fuel oil.
