The need for a fast acting and broad spectrum antimicrobial composition which does not reduce surface shine and does not leave visible residues on the surface, while also providing greater residuality of the actives can be met by formulating antimicrobial compositions as described herein.
ANTI-MICROBIAL PARTICLES
A composition comprising a plurality of anti-microbial particles that each comprises: a) from about 20% to about 99.9% of polyalkylene glycol having a weight average molecular weight from about 2000 to about 40000 Daltons by total weight of said particle; and b) from about 0.1% to about 50% of an anti-microbial agent by total weight of said particle, wherein each of said plurality of particles has a mass from about 5 mg to about 500 mg. Preferably, the anti-microbial agent can be selected from chloroxylenol, percarbonate, silver, methyl-diisopropanolamine-based (MDIPA-based) quaternary ammonium compound, didecyldimethyl ammonium chlorides (DDAC), alkyl dimethyl benzalkonium chlorides (ADBAC) and alkyl dimethyl benzalkonium chloride (ADEBAC), and any combinations thereof.

The invention meets the needs above by providing a surfactant system, mixture or blend that can be used as a part of a soaking composition. The surfactant system is capable of forming emulsions with, and thus removing, oily and greasy stains. In a preferred embodiment the surfactant compositions of the invention can remove non-trans fat and fatty acid stains. The invention involves foaming soaking compositions that have some or part of the anionic surfactant present in the same replaced with an extended chain anionic surfactant.

The present disclosure is also related to non-antimicrobial applications employing a synergistic combination of a quaternary ammonium compound and an anionic and/or nonionic surfactant. The present disclosure is related to various forms of concentrated or use compositions containing the quaternary ammonium compound and an anionic surfactant (and in certain embodiments nonionic surfactants). In particular, the present disclosure provides compositions having desired foaming enhancement and methods employing the same for applications such as pot and pan compositions, hand soaps, facility sanitizing, and other soil removal applications with foam stabilization.
