A makeup brush for use with a motorized handle has a substantially cylindrical body portion defining a first end, a second end, a blind bore formed in the first end, an outer wall that extends from the first end to the second end, and a coupling assembly formed at the second end that is configured for coupling the body portion to a motorized handle. An applicator is at least partially received in the blind bore and coupled therein. At least one finger grip is formed on the outer wall proximate to the first end and extends radially outward from the outer wall. The at least one finger grip is configured to enable a user to releasably couple the body portion adjacent a motorized handle without the user having to touch the applicator. In various embodiments, the blind bore has a solid bottom wall that separates the bore from the coupling assembly.

The invention relates to a device for applying a viscous substance, in particular for the purposes of cosmetics, writing, painting, drawing, and/or marking, with a tank (40) for storing a liquid substance, a pump cage (42) arranged within the tank (40), an application apparatus (2), and a conveying device (3), which is configured such as to convey the substance out of the tank (40) to the application device. According to the invention, provision is made for the conveying device (3) to comprise a cylinder (10), a piston (30) arranged such as to be axially displaceable in the cylinder, a pump plunger (20) for the axial displacement of the piston (30) and having a plunger hole (26), a first connection channel (41) between the cylinder (10) pump cage (42) and the tank (40), and a second connection channel (21) between the cylinder (10) pump cage (42) and the application apparatus (2), plunger hole (26) the piston (30) to be adjustable in relation to the pump plunger (20), for the piston (30) to open or close the first connection channel (41) depending on the setting in relation to the cylinder (10), and for the piston (30), depending on the position in relation to the pump plunger (20), to open or close the second connection channel (21).

A cosmetic tool composed of a lid, an inner casing, a lower casing, and a head. The lid and the lower casing are slidably coupled to the inner casing. The head, attached to the lower casing, may be retracted into the inner casing. Additionally, the inner casing includes a plurality of dimples to secure the lid to the inner casing, through frictional forces. The head may be a brush or a sponge to accommodate to various use scenarios. The cosmetic tool includes a critical height and a critical diameter of 75 mm and 30 mm, respectively, as these dimensions allow the cosmetic tool to be carried seamlessly into various articles of clothing, including pockets and purses.

A mascara application system includes two brushes on wands, biased together, requiring force by fingers to separate brushes. Once open or separated, brushes can be positioned on opposite sides (surfaces, top and bottom) of an eyelash (speaking of the entire lash, not individual fibers). Upon release of the force, brushes close on each other, with no affirmative force required to keep them together, fingers now free to manipulate by holding, rolling, drawing, or otherwise controlling the handle portion. A receptacle portion containing mascara product may receive, and seal the applicator with or without relative rotation, depending on the embodiment. The best functional embodiment requires no rotation of the squeegee seal, but instead causes the squeegee to move brushes and wands radially outward with limited movement (toggling) in almost any direction when partially withdrawn through the squeegee.

A device includes elements for mixing, heating, and extruding the composition from the device, as well as elements for sensing the position of the device and coordinating application of the composition to the eyelashes, during a gesture, based on sensed positions and desired lengths of filaments to be added to the eyelashes. The device includes means for priming eyelashes for receipt of the compositions thereto as well as wireless communications features for interaction with computational devices, such as smartphones.

A multifunctional applicator includes a first application element and a second application element, where the first application element includes a first application head and a first connecting rod that are fixedly connected; an insertion member is fixedly provided on the first application head; a first mounting groove is formed in the first connecting rod; the second application element includes a second application head and a second connecting rod that are fixedly connected; a second mounting groove is formed in the second application head; and when the first application element and the second application element are assembled, the insertion member is inserted into the second mounting groove, and the second connecting rod is inserted into the first mounting groove. A handheld makeup applicator device, and techniques for controlling a handheld makeup applicator device, are provided. Example techniques may include receiving an indication of a makeup look selected by a user; analyzing real-time data associated with the face of the user captured by sensors of the handheld makeup applicator device to generate a three-dimensional map associated with the face of the user; identifying facial features on the three-dimensional map associated with the face of the user; and controlling actuators of the handheld makeup applicator device to automatically adjust interchangeable applicator heads associated with respective cosmetic products in real-time as the user holds the handheld makeup applicator device to the face, based on a location of the handheld makeup applicator device with respect to the facial features of the face, to apply one or more cosmetic products to the face to achieve the makeup look selected by the user.

An applicator for applying a pasty or flowable substance is provided. The applicator comprises an applicator element comprising a plurality of rods that are joined at a proximal end of the applicator element. The plurality of rods extend from the proximal end of the applicator element separately to a distal end of the applicator element, where they are reunited. Each of the plurality of rods has a helical shape between the proximal end of the applicator element and the distal end of the applicator element. Each of the plurality of rods has no outwardly protruding bristles or projections.
