Siphon trap disinfection system
A disinfection device for a trapped-liquid comprising of a drain trap for a liquid flow having an inner surface to trap a volume of the trapped-liquid and a helical coil capable of generating metal ions to eliminate biological cells attached to said drain trap. An electric valve is connected to a tap water and the helical coil and a power supply provides a current and a voltage to the helical coil for a period of ionization and a sensor system installed in the drain trap to sense flow of a liquid through the drain trap. A timer system to determine the length of a stagnant-time that the trapped-liquid is stagnant in the drain trap; and to determine the length of an ionization-time for the period of ionization.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DISINFECTING WATER
The invention relates to a method of disinfecting water, comprising adding nonindigenous cupric ions to the water and applying voltage across copper-containing electrodes in contact with the water to generate an antimicrobial effect. The nonindigenous cupric ions are supplied to the water from a cation exchange resin charged beforehand with cupric ions. The invention also relates to a disinfection system installable in a body of water, water supply line or in a circulation line of a water flow, for reducing microbial load of the water, by said method.
BACTERIA REMOVING WATER GENERATION DEVICE
A bacteria removing water generation device is provided. The device includes a hypochlorous acid containing water generating part generating water containing hypochlorous acid by electrolyzing tap water; a sterilizing metal ionic water generating part including electrodes, sterilizing metal ion being eluted from the electrodes into the tap water by electrolyzing tap water; a water discharge part discharging at least one of the water containing the hypochlorous acid and water containing the sterilizing metal ion; and a controller controlling operations of the hypochlorous acid containing water generating part and the sterilizing metal ionic water generating part. When a concentration of the hypochlorous acid in the water containing the hypochlorous acid is relatively low, a concentration of the sterilizing metal ion in the water containing the sterilizing metal ion is relatively high.
Apparatus and Method for Generating Metal Ions in a Fluid Stream
An apparatus for providing metal ions to a fluid waste stream includes a housing having an inlet port and an outlet port through which the fluid waste stream enters and exits the housing. Within the housing and between the inlet and outlet ports is an electrode assembly that includes first electrode ring assemblies and second electrode ring assemblies. Each first electrode ring assembly includes a first tubular section formed of electrically insulative material and has an interior through which the fluid waste stream flows. One or more first electrode plates span the interior of the first tubular section and contact the fluid waste stream. Each second electrode ring assembly includes a second tubular section formed of electrically insulative material and has an interior through which the fluid waste stream flows. One or more second electrode plates span the interior of the second tubular section and contact the fluid waste stream. The first tubular sections of the first electrode ring assemblies are in fluid communication with the second tubular sections of the second electrode ring assemblies.
Method for imparting filtering capability in electrolytic cell for wastewater treatment
An electrolytic cell, system, and method for the energy efficient electrochemical treatment of wastewater comprising organic and/or inorganic pollutants are disclosed. The system comprises an electrolytic cell comprising a solid polymer, proton exchange membrane electrolyte operating without catholyte or other supporting electrolyte. The electrolytic cell also comprises a filter layer incorporated between the anode fluid delivery layer and the anode flow field plate for removing various contaminants including particulates and/or suspended solids from the wastewater stream. The cell design and operating conditions chosen provide for significantly greater operating efficiency.
Electrolytic biocide-generating unit
The present disclosure relates to a biocide-generating device for outputting a biocide to a water system. The biocide-generating device includes a power circuit positioned within a housing that defines an electrolytic cell of the biocide-generating device.
Systems and methods for disinfecting fluids
An exemplary embodiment of the present invention provides a system for disinfecting a fluid. The system can comprise: a cylindrically-shaped outer electrode defining an internal cavity: a center electrode positioned within the internal cavity, the center electrode extending along at least a portion of a longitudinal axis of the outer electrode: an inlet positioned proximate a first end of the outer electrode and configured to allow a fluid to pass from an area external to the internal cavity into the internal cavity; and an outlet positioned proximate a second end of the outer electrode and configured to allow the fluid to pass from the internal cavity into an area external to the internal cavity. The outer electrode and the center electrode can comprise at least one metal selected from the group consisting of copper, silver, and zinc.
Side-stream particle precipitator apparatus and sustem for condenser open loop cooling system
A side-stream particle precipitator system for the breakdown and removal of organic and inorganic suspended solids in water cooling systems using a plurality of ionizer treatment units utilizing electric and electro-magnetic fields and a mechanical vortex precipitating system with a static mixer for increasing retention time of the water complex in the precipitator to remove particulate materials contained in the water complex as suspended solids. The system also uses high voltage electrodes for charging the water complex to breakdown laminar flow at the conduit walls to mechanically dislodge any build-up of bio-materials or chemical compounds along the walls resulting in an increase in thermal conductivity.
