LAMINATED CERAMIC MOLDED ARTICLE HAVING RECESSES
The invention relates to a ceramic molded article (1) that has recesses (2) and comprises at least two plates (joined parts) (3) made of a ceramic material, i.e. a lower base plate (9), an upper cover plate (8) and, optionally, one or more intermediate plates (7) which are stacked on top of each other and are joined to each other on the surfaces thereof to form the molded article (1); a joining material (paste) is placed between the plates (joined parts) (3).
LASER JOINING OF CMC STACKS
A method of manufacturing a gas turbine engine component (10) and the component so formed. The method includes: stacking a plurality of CMC layers (16) along a metal core (30) to form a stack of disconnected CMC layers, wherein adjacent edge faces (46) of the layers define a surface (44); additively depositing ceramic material (14) to only selected portions of the surface (44) to bond together at least some of the layers at their respective edge faces; and selecting locations for the depositing of the ceramic material to achieve a predetermined mechanical characteristic of the resulting component.
PERFORATED CERAMIC MATRIX COMPOSITE PLY, CERAMIC MATRIX COMPOSITE ARTICLE, AND METHOD FOR FORMING CERAMIC MATRIX COMPOSITE ARTICLE
A ceramic matrix composite article, method for forming the article, and perforated ply which may be incorporated therein are disclosed. The article includes at least one shell ply forming an exterior wall having first and second portions and defining a plenum. An annular brace formed of at least one structural support ply is disposed within the plenum, including a first integral portion integral with and part of the first portion of the exterior wall, a first curved portion extending from the first integral portion and curving across the article plenum to the second portion of the exterior wall, a second integral portion integral with and part of the second portion of the exterior wall, a second curved portion extending from the second integral portion and curving across the article plenum to the first curved portion, and an overlap in which the first and second curved portions are integral.
Method for making ceramic thin exterior part
A method for making a thin ceramic part involves making a casting slurry including a ceramic powder, a solvent, a binder, a plasticizer, and a dispersant. The casting slurry is tape casted to achieve a single layer green tape. At least two single layer green tapes are laminated to form a green tape lamination. The green tape lamination is dry pressed, dried, shaped, degreased, and fired to achieve the exterior component required.
CERAMIC MATRIX COMPOSITE COMPONENT, GAS TURBINE SEAL ASSEMBLY, AND METHOD OF FORMING CERAMIC MATRIX COMPOSITE COMPONENT
A gas turbine seal assembly includes a gas turbine component and a gas turbine seal component contacting the gas turbine component to form a seal between the two components. The gas turbine seal component includes ceramic matrix composite plies bonded together to form the ceramic matrix composite component. A bond-inhibiting coating on a non-bonding portion of a first surface of one of the ceramic matrix composite plies prevents bonding between the non-bonding portion of the first surface and a second surface of a neighboring ceramic matrix composite ply. At least one bonding portion of the first surface lacking the bond-inhibiting coating is bonded to the second surface. A method of forming a ceramic matrix composite component includes selectively applying a bond-inhibiting coating to a non-bonding portion of a first surface of a ceramic matrix composite ply and bonding the ceramic matrix composite plies together.
Epitaxy substrate and method of manufacturing the same
An epitaxy substrate and a method of manufacturing the same are provided. The epitaxy substrate includes a device substrate and a handle substrate. The device substrate has a first surface and a second surface opposite to each other, and a bevel disposed between the first and the second surfaces. The handle substrate is bonded to the second surface of the device substrate, wherein the oxygen content of the device substrate is less than the oxygen content of the handle substrate, and a bonding angle greater than 90° is between the bevel of the device substrate and the handle substrate.
CERAMIC HEATER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A ceramic heater includes: a ceramic plate which is provided with a wafer placement surface on an upper surface and in which a heating resistor is internally embedded; a ceramic tubular shaft with an upper end bonded to a lower surface of the plate; and power feeding members which penetrate a peripheral wall part of the tubular shaft in a vertical direction, and are electrically connected to the heating resistor. The power feeding members are embedded in the peripheral wall part of the tubular shaft, and are in tight contact with a ceramic material of the tubular shaft.
Joining method for optical part
A method for joining an optical part made of quartz glass and a supporting part made of ceramic includes forming a metal layer on a surface of the supporting part by electroless plating, polishing the formed metal layer with a polishing pad to form a first smoothed face on the supporting part surface, polishing a surface of the optical part with the polishing pad to form a second smoothed face, cleaning the first smoothed face and the second smoothed face with ultrasonic cleaning water, forming a first metal film on the first smoothed face by vapor deposition and forming a second metal film on the second smoothed face by vapor deposition, and joining the first metal film and the second metal film to each other by interatomic joining by atomic diffusion between the faces at which the first metal film and the second metal film contact with each other.
ELECTROSTATIC CHUCK MANUFACTURING METHOD, ELECTROSTATIC CHUCK, AND SUBSTRATE PROCESSING APPARATUS
A method of manufacturing an electrostatic chuck includes: preparing a first ceramic plate having a first hole formed therein; preparing a second ceramic plate having a second hole formed at a position different from a position of the first hole in a horizontal direction; forming a first slurry layer on the first ceramic plate or the second ceramic plate with a first slurry, the first slurry layer having a flow path formed therein to connect the first hole and the second hole; stacking the first ceramic plate and the second ceramic plate one above the other via the first slurry layer; and bonding the first ceramic plate and the second ceramic plate stacked one above the other via the first slurry layer.
