PREPARATION METHOD OF VINYL ESTER RESIN FOR OPTIMIZING HEAT-RELEASE DURING CURING
A preparation method of vinyl ester resin for optimizing heat-release during curing includes: (A) providing a vinyl ester, a solvent and a phase change material to perform mixture; (B) performing a heating process to remove the solvent, so as to obtain a vinyl ester resin containing the phase change material. Thereby, the organic PCM material with high heat absorption and good resin affinity can be used as the temperature control agent of the vinyl ester resin during the curing process for avoiding the defects such as bubbles and cracks being generated in the vinyl ester resin.
Ophthalmic devices
An ophthalmic device is disclosed that is a polymerization product of a monomeric mixture comprising: (a) a major amount of one or more non-silicone-containing hydrophilic monomers; (b) a crosslinking agent mixture comprising (i) one or more first crosslinking agents containing at least two ethylenically unsaturated reactive end groups, wherein the at least two ethylenically unsaturated reactive end groups are (meth)acrylate-containing reactive end groups and (ii) one or more second crosslinking agents containing at least two ethylenically unsaturated reactive end groups wherein at least one of the ethylenically unsaturated reactive end groups is a non-(meth)acrylate reactive end group, and (c) one or more hydrophilic polymers or copolymers comprising one or more hydrophilic units and a thio carbonyl thio fragment of a reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) agent wherein the ophthalmic device has an equilibrium water content of at least about 45 weight percent.
PATTERN FORMING METHOD
A pattern forming method comprises dispensing a curable composition onto an underlayer of a substrate; bringing the curable composition into contact with a mold; irradiating the curable composition with light to form a cured film; and separating the cured film from the mold. The proportion of the number of carbon atoms relative to the total number of atoms in the underlayer is 80% or more. The dispensing step comprises a first dispensing step of dispensing a curable composition (A1) substantially free of a fluorosurfactant onto the underlayer, and a second dispensing step of dripping a droplet of a curable composition (A2) having a fluorosurfactant concentration in components excluding a solvent of 1.1% by mass or less onto the curable composition (A1) discretely.

OPHTHALMIC DEVICES

ADDITION-FRAGMENTATION OLIGOMERS
Novel stress-reducing crosslinking oligomers that have application in dental restoratives, thin films, hardcoats, composites, adhesives, and other uses subject to stress reduction are described. The addition-fragmentation process of crosslinking results in a chain-transfer event that provides novel polymers that may be further functionalized. In addition, the addition-fragmentation oligomer comprises pendent functional groups that bond to a substrate by forming an ionic or covalent bond, or etch the substrate by chemically removing some material from the substrate.
Dental materials based on monofunctional vinylcyclopropane derivatives
Dental material which contains at least one vinylcyclopropane of the general formulae I, ##STR00001##
in which A, B independently of each other are in each case OH or COOH; X, Y independently of each other are in each case O or NH; R.sup.1, R.sup.2 independently of each other are in each case H or an aliphatic linear or branched C.sub.1-C.sub.10 hydrocarbon radical which can be interrupted by O, S or an ester group; and n, m independently of each other are in each case 0, 1 or 2, wherein, if XYO, R.sup.1H and R.sup.2H, n+m1. The vinylcyclopropanes are characterized by a low shrinkage and a high reactivity on radical polymerization and are suitable in particular for the preparation of dental materials.
