Sheetlike semifinished product having a plastic matrix
A sheetlike semifinished product comprising a matrix having at least one latent reactive plastics composition which is curable to afford an elastomer, in particular a thermoplastic elastomer, and fibers embedded in the matrix. A process for producing sheetlike semifinished products is further disclosed.
LIQUID COMPOSITION COMPRISING THREE INITIATORS, ITS PROCESS OF POLYMERIZATION, USE AND MATERIAL OR COMPOSITION OBTAINED FOLLOWING POLYMERIZATION OF COMPOSITION
The present invention relates to a liquid composition comprising a monomer, a (meth)acrylic polymer and at least three initiators. In particular the present invention relates to a liquid composition comprising a monomer, a (meth)acrylic polymer and at least three initiators that have a different half life time. That liquid composition can be used as a syrup and especially as a syrup for impregnation of fibres or fibrous material. Also concerned is a thermoplastic material obtained after polymerization of the liquid composition. The invention also relates to a process for manufacturing such a liquid composition. The invention also relates to a process for impregnating a fibrous substrate of long fibres with said liquid composition. The invention also relates to a fibrous substrate impregnated with said liquid composition which is useful for manufacturing composite parts. The present invention also relates to a process for manufacturing mechanical parts or structural elements made of composite material and to mechanical parts or structural elements made of composite material obtained via a process using such a liquid composition.
MINERAL FIBER BASED COMPOSITES
The present disclosure provides for binder compositions comprising cellulose ethers, as well as insulation articles and products comprising the same.
Self-assembled propylene-based compositions and methods of production thereof
Disclosed are self-assembled propylene-based bi-layer compositions having a skin layer comprising a propylene-based elastomer-toughened composition and a core layer comprising a propylene-based fiber-reinforced composition, wherein the propylene-based elastomer-toughened composition and propylene-based fiber-reinforced composition self-assemble upon mixing into the skin layer and the core layer. Processes for producing these self-assembled propylene-based compositions are also disclosed.
BASALT-FIBER-REINFORCED THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A basalt-fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composite material may include a thermoplastic resin and a basalt fiber as a reinforcement, wherein the basalt fiber is surface-treated with an alkoxy-group-substituted silane compound.
Holding material for pollution control element, production method thereof, and pollution control apparatus
A holding material for a pollution control element which can sufficiently suppress scattering of inorganic fibers when the pollution control element is assembled in a casing, and which has a sufficiently high coefficient of friction. The holding material includes: a sheet-like main body made of first inorganic fibers having a minor axis in the range of from about 3 to 10 μm; and a surface layer which is provided on at least one surface of the main body and contains second inorganic fibers having a minor axis in the range of from about 1 to 15 nm.
POLYMERIC-BASED BUILDING MATERIALS
Polymeric-based building materials are disclosed. The polymeric-based building materials can include opposing inner and outer surfaces, with a recessed portion on the inner surface that is positioned between a first contacting portion and a second contacting portion. The surface of the second contacting portion can be angled with respect to the surface of the first contacting portion.
Lightweight fire resistant composite utility pole, cross arm and brace structures
Disclosed embodiments include hollow composite utility pole, cross arm, and brace structures and methods of manufacture of the same using fire retardant materials. Poles, cross arm, and brace structures may be manufactured using a fire resistant resin impregnated, or resin wetted, filament roving that is wound onto a mandrel, pultruded or otherwise formed into a structural part. Various pole structures and manufacturing methods are described, including chemically bonded sleeve joint structures for poles of varying size.
Sizing composition for mineral fibers and resulting products
The present invention relates to a sizing composition for mineral fibers, especially glass fibers or rock fibers, containing a liquid phenolic resin having a free formaldehyde content, expressed with respect to the total weight of liquid, of 0.1% or less and an extender. Preferably, the liquid phenolic resin is mainly composed of phenol-formaldehyde and phenol-formaldehyde-amine condensates and has a water dilutability, at 20 C., at least equal to 1000%. Another subject of the present invention is the insulating products based on mineral fibers treated by said sizing composition.
Method for producing a fibre-reinforced polyamide matrix composite material from a reactive prepolymer precursor composition
A process and reactive prepolymer composition for producing a part made of a thermoplastic composite material by molding in a closed mold, where the material includes reinforcing fibers and a polyamide thermoplastic matrix impregnating the fibers having the steps of preparing the reactive prepolymer precursor, injecting the reactive prepolymer precursor in the molten state into the closed mold containing the fibers, thereby impregnating the fibers with the reactive precursor mixture, bulk polymerizing the reactive prepolymer precursor in situ, and demolding the molded part produced.
