Composite pigment and production method thereof, paint composition containing composite pigment, and coating film
The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a composite pigment, and production method thereof, which can suppress luster of a coating film by modifying an inorganic coloring pigment, and which can be used in various applications such as low-gloss (luster reduction effect) pigments and matte pigments; a paint composition which can achieve both an excellent coating film texture and also the property of having low gloss and luster even when added to a coating film; and a coating film. In this composite pigment, the inorganic coloring pigment is fixed by an inorganic compound, and a plurality of particles of the inorganic coloring pigment are aggregated into granular form through the inorganic compound.
COLOR-NEUTRAL RUTILE PIGMENT PARTICLE
The invention relates to a color-neutral rutile pigment particle, a method for obtaining said pigment particle, and a composition comprised of said rutile pigment particle. Finally, the invention refers to the use of the rutile pigment particle in various applications.
Method for integrated processing of titanium-containing raw materials to obtain high added value products based on titanium, iron, calcium and nitrogen
The present invention relates to the processing of natural titanium-containing feedstock, mainly ilmenite concentrate, including ilmenite ores with a low TiO.sub.2 content, into products with high added value without generating any liquid or solid waste. The method according to the invention comprises the following stages: digesting ilmenite concentrate, processing the solid residue following ilmenite concentrate digestion, hydrolysis of titanium oxychloride, washing titanium oxides/hydroxides precipitate from impurities, calcination of titanium oxides/hydroxides precipitate, precipitation of iron hydroxides to obtain black, red and yellow iron oxide pigments, processing the mother liquor containing calcium chloride, regeneration of hydrogen chloride from ammonium chloride solution, obtaining ammonium sulfate and ammonium sulfate crystallization, obtaining crystalline ammonium chloride. The resulting products are pigments, pigment fillers, mineral fertilizers, construction materials, raw materials for the production of metals, and other products; they are used in various fields of application such as paint and coatings industry, pulp and paper industry, in the production of plastics, in metallurgy, in agricultural, construction industries and others.
Hybrid colored metallic pigment
A thin film structure including a reflector layer; and a hybrid layer including an organic colored material and at least one of an organic filler and an inorganic filler; wherein a concentration of the at least one of an organic filler or an inorganic filler is in a range of from about 3 wt. % to about 30 wt. %. A method of making a thin film structure is also disclosed.
METHOD OF PREPARING AN AQUEOUS TITANIUM DIOXIDE SLURRY, THE THUS PRODUCED SLURRY AND COATING COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING THE SAME
Disclosed herein is a method for producing an aqueous titanium dioxide slurry. The method includes (a) providing an aqueous dispersion medium, and (b) dispersing titanium dioxide into the aqueous dispersion medium provided in step (a) to obtain a titanium dioxide slurry containing at least 65 wt.-% up to 85 wt.-% of titanium dioxide, based on the total weight of the thus obtained slurry, where step (b) is carried out by sole use of a non-milling mixing device and at least until the Hegman fineness of the titanium dioxide particles is below 8 μm. Further disclosed herein are a slurry obtained from the disclosed method, a coating composition containing the same, and a method for producing a coating and a thus coated substrate.
FORMULATION FOR A FIBROUS NON-WOVEN FACING MATERIAL
The present invention provides a formulation for a fibrous non-woven facing material, wherein the formulation comprises a binder, a filler, and an extender. The extender has an median particle size, d.sub.50, which is equal to or less than 3.5 μm, and a non-spherical morphology. The filler has an median particle size, d.sub.50, which is equal to or less than 3.0 μm and wherein the filler has a d.sub.10 equal to or less than 1.0 μm and a d.sub.90 equal to or less than 6.0 μm. The formulation comprises less than 13 wt % titanium dioxide on a dry solids basis. Also provided is a fibrous non-woven facing material comprising the formulation, a process for preparing the fibrous non-woven facing material and a fibrous non-woven facing material obtained by said process.
Wood pigment compositions and wood treatment processes
Disclosed herein are compositions and methods for treating wood to give it a desirable color that is durable over time, while at the same time rendering the wood resistant to fungal decay and insect attack. The wood may be pressure treated in a two-step process whereby the wood is first treated with a wood preservation composition, and then treated with a composition comprising pigments, or vice versa. Alternatively, the wood may be simultaneously treated with a composition comprising a wood preservative and a composition comprising pigments.
High-voltage components
The present invention relates to high-voltage components, especially for electromobility, comprising polymer compositions based on at least one polyamide and at least one pigment system based on mixed oxides containing titanium dioxide, tin oxide and zinc oxide, and to the use of such a pigment system for production of polyamide-based high-voltage components or for marking of polyamide-based products as high-voltage components by laser.
PIGMENT COMPOSITION FOR SEED COATINGS
A pigment composition comprising one or more filler particles and one or more pigments is useful as a seed coating. The pigment comprises one or more metal oxide coated filler particles. The composition does not comprise any materials that are no suitable for a seed coating. A coated seed is coated with the pigment composition.
