A lubricant additive may be synthesized by forming a nanohybrid of a transition metal dichalcogenide and a metal borate, forming a base oil, and then dispersing the transition metal dichalcogenide into the base oil. An exemplary nanohybrid may be synthesized by forming a first solution by adding a borax solution to an aqueous solution of a metal source, forming a second solution by adding ethanol to the first solution, forming a mixture by mixing the transition metal dichalcogenide with the second solution, and heating the mixture at a temperature of 180° C. to 230° C. and a pressure of 5 to 20 bar under a nitrogen atmosphere.

The present disclosure relates to a lubricant composition including an anti-wear additive and metal nanoparticles. The lubricant composition according to the disclosure has, simultaneously, good stability as well as good, long-lasting friction properties.

A lubricant includes at least 45 wt % paraffin oil, less than 8 wt % of a pyrophosphate or triphosphate, more than 6 wt % of a group 6 disulfide or diselenide and up to 27.5 wt % of graphite. The lubricant is used in a method for producing a magnesium alloy tube via extrusion, and is especially useful to form implants such as stents while maintaining the biocompatibility of the magnesium alloy.

Lubricants comprising carbon particles and methods of making the same
A lubricant includes carbon particles in a carrier. The carbon particles may be nearly spherical, individually have maximum and minimum diameters that differ by no more than ten nanometers, and the maximum diameters of the carbon particles are less than one micrometer. The lubricant may be manufactured by preparing the carbon particles by ultrasound-assisted polymerization of resorcinol and formaldehyde in an aqueous system followed by a heat treatment in an inert or non-oxidizing atmosphere and dispersion of the carbon particles in the liquid hydrocarbon carrier to form the lubricant. Optionally, inorganic metals, alloys, or oxides are coated on the surface of the carbon particles via an additional thermolysis step.
Preparation method and application of the multicomponent composite sulfides lubricant film
The invention relates to a multi-component composite sulfide solid lubricating film prepared by sulfurizing the surface of a high-entropy alloy. The high-entropy alloy is composed of five metal elements of Co, Cr, Fe, Ni and Mo or six metal elements of Co, Cr, Fe, Ni, Mo and W. The multi-component composite sulfide solid lubricating film of the invention is mainly applied to the friction pair surface of mechanical equipment, the lubricating film and the sulfurized base have high bonding strength, and multi-component composite sulfide solid lubricating films containing different sulfide lubricating phases can be chose and prepared according to the service environment of equipment.
SLIDING MEMBER
Disclosed herein is a sliding member for an internal-combustion engine of an automobile or the like. The sliding member has excellent sliding properties due to high oleophilicity of its sliding surface achieved by adjusting the surface texture of a resin layer forming the sliding surface, which makes it possible to effectively prevent wear or seizure of the sliding member and a counterpart sliding member thereof. The sliding member includes a resin layer provided on a surface of a base material, in which the resin layer has a surface roughness of 1.05 or more, preferably 1.07 or more. The mean spacing (s) between local peaks of the resin layer may be in the range of 2 m or more but 12 m or less, but may be preferably in the range of 2 m or more but 10 m or less. Further, the mean height (Rc) of the resin layer may be in the range of 0.5 m or more but 5.0 m or less, but may be preferably in the range of 0.5 m or more but 3.0 m or less.
SOLID FILM LUBRICANT, METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME, SLIDING ELEMENT COMPRISING SAME AND USE THEREOF
The invention relates to an imide polymer-based solid film lubricant, a method for producing same, a sliding element comprising same and the use thereof. According to the method, difunctional or cyclized difunctional compounds and optionally functional fillers are added to a non-imidized or partly imidized polyamide acid prepolymer or an imidized short-chain blocked prepolymer in a solvent or solvent mixture and then, depending on the prepolymer, a polymerization reaction or an imidization reaction and in both cases a crosslinking reaction is carried out. The solid film lubricant comprises an imide polymer as the resin matrix and optionally functional fillers, the molecules of the imide polymer comprising groups (R.sub.1) of the difunctional compounds that additionally contribute to the crosslinking.

The invention relates to polymeric-inorganic nanoparticle compositions and preparation processes thereof.
