Metal working fluid
A metal working fluid having increased resistance to bacterial growth. The metal working fluid includes a cross-linked polymeric ester emulsifier; and an amine represented by the formula (H.sub.2N).sub.a-Q-(NH.sub.2).sub.b, where a and b are each integers, and Q is at least one carbon atom. Q may also be represented by XYZ, where a+b2; X is a cyclic ring system including 3 to 24 carbon atoms; and Y and Z are groups that include at least one carbon atom directly attached to the cyclic ring system. The metal working fluid may also include a biocide, and may also include an amide that is formed by reacting the amine with a carboxylic acid.
Use of a hydrocarbyl-substituted salicylic acid detergent as an inhibitor of lead corrosion
This invention relates to the use of a metallic or non-metallic detergent which is a hydrocarbyl-substituted salicylic acid or a derivative thereof in a non-aqueous lubricant composition as an inhibitor of lead corrosion associated with ashless, organic ester, anti-wear additives and/or friction modifiers.
Hydraulic fluid composition
The invention provides a hydraulic fluid composition comprising a hydrocarbon component comprising more than 5 wt % of naphthenic oil and up to 95 wt % of renewable or recycled isoparaffinic oil, based on the total weight of the composition. The hydraulic fluid composition is useful as an arctic hydraulic fluid composition, shock absorber or automatic transmission fluid.

Motor Oil Blend and Method for Reducing Wear on Steel and Eliminating ZDDP in Motor Oils by Modifying the Plastic Response of Steel
An environmentally-improved motor oil blend and related methods for properly lubricating components of an engine and favorably modifying a plastic response of components of the engine, the blend being free of zinc di-alkyl-di-thiophosphates (ZDDP) and free of zinc di-thiophosphate (ZDTP), comprising: a motor oil selected from the motor oil group consisting of Group I, Group II, Group III, Group IV, and Group V motor oils; a motor oil additive comprising alpha-olefins and hydroisomerized hydro-treated severe hydrocracked base oil; ZDDP omitted from the chemical constituents of the motor oil; and ZDTP omitted from the chemical constituents of the motor oil.
Lubricant Composition
Lubricant compositions comprising a base oil, one or more antioxidants selected from a group consisting of N--naphthyl-N-phenylamine antioxidants and diphenylamine antioxidants; and a sulfur-containing additive comprising up to seven carbon atoms exhibit outstanding oxidative stability and non-corrosion properties. The N--naphthyl-N-phenylamine antioxidants plus diphenylamine antioxidants in total may be present from about 0.2 wt % to about 0.8 wt %, based on the total weight of the lubricant composition. The sulfur provided by the sulfur-containing additive may be present from about 50 ppm to about 1000 ppm by weight, based on the total weight of the lubricant composition.

Grease composition
A grease composition comprises a base oil and an aluminium complex soap thickener, with graphite, molybdenum di-sulphide, calcium carbonate and bismuth sulphide all included as additives. The composition exhibits advantageous load, wear and friction performance, especially in extreme pressure environments, and is particularly suitable for use on open gears.

Lubricant composition and use
The present invention provides a lubricant composition which can be washed off cold and the use thereof for application to a metal strip as anti-corrosion, wash and/or forming lubricant. The composition is 50 to 90 wt % base fluid, 3 to 15 wt % sulfonate-based corrosion inhibitor, 1 to 20 wt % ester component, 0.5 to 3 wt % phosphorus source component or 1 to 10 wt % sulfur source component as high-pressure/anti-wear additive, 1 to 15 wt % emulsifier, 0.05 to 1 wt % carboxylic acid component, 0.05 to 1 wt % aminic and/or phenolic antioxidant, 0.5 to 5 wt % wax and/or thickener component, based in each case on the total weight of the composition. Further disclosed is a dry lubricant composition which can be washed off cold.
