Non-newtonian engine oil with superior engine wear protection and fuel economy
Provided is a non-Newtonian engine oil lubricant composition with improved fuel efficiency and engine wear protection. The lubricant composition includes a major amount of a base oil including a Group II base stock and an optional Group V base stock, from 0.1 to 9.0 wt. % of at least one viscosity modifier and from 0.1 to 1.2 wt. % of at least one friction modifier. The non-Newtonian engine oil lubricant composition has a kinematic viscosity at 100 deg. C. of less than or equal to 10 cSt and an HTHS (ASTM D4683) of less than or equal to 2.2 cP at 150 C. Also provided are methods of using the lubricant composition in internal combustion engines and methods of making the lubricant composition.
Emulsifier for use in lubricating oil
The present disclosure relates to emulsifying agents produced from succinic acids or anhydrides and polyalkylene glycols. The present disclosure also relates to lubricating oils containing such emulsifying agents. The emulsifying agent provides a lubricating oil that is substantially free of an aqueous layer after about 24 hours when tested according to ASTM D7563-10.
Polytriglycerides

Also disclosed are polyamine triglyceride compositions containing 8 to 16 nitrogen moieties per triglyceride unit and methods of making.
Lubricant Composition and Use
The present invention provides a lubricant composition which can be washed off cold and the use thereof for application to a metal strip as anti-corrosion, wash and/or forming lubricant. The composition is 50 to 90 wt % base fluid, 3 to 15 wt % sulfonate-based corrosion inhibitor, 1 to 20 wt % ester component, 0.5 to 3 wt % phosphorus source component or 1 to 10 wt % sulfur source component as high-pressure/anti-wear additive, 1 to 15 wt % emulsifier, 0.05 to 1 wt % carboxylic acid component, 0.05 to 1 wt % aminic and/or phenolic antioxidant, 0.5 to 5 wt % wax and/or thickener component, based in each case on the total weight of the composition. Further disclosed is a dry lubricant composition which can be washed off cold.
Lubricant composition containing an antiwear agent
The invention provides a lubricant composition comprising an oil of lubricating viscosity and 0.01 wt % to 15 wt % of a protic acid salt of an N-hydrocarbyl-substituted gamma- (-) or delta- (-)amino(thio)ester. The invention further relates to a method of lubricating a mechanical device with the lubricant composition.
ZINC-FREE LUBRICATING COMPOSITION
The invention is directed to a zinc-free lubricating composition for an internal combustion engine containing a phosphorus anti-wear agent, an ashless antioxidant, and an oxyalkylated phenol compound. The lubricating composition provides wear protection, deposit control, and improved acid control with reduced levels of metal-containing additives.
CORROSION INHIBITORS FOR FUELS AND LUBRICANTS
The present invention relates to novel uses of corrosion inhibitors in fuels and lubricants.
Compositions and methods for inhibiting fouling in hydrocarbons or petrochemicals
Antifoulant compositions and methods are used for inhibiting fouling on structural parts of a system exposed to a fluid hydrocarbon or petrochemical stream. The antifoulant compositions may comprise at least one polyalkylene anhydride ester (PAAE) dispersant. Other antifoulant compositions may comprise an alkylphenol sulfide (APS).
