Combinations of phosphorous-containing compounds for use as anti-wear additives in lubricant compositions
The present disclosure relates to a lubricant composition comprising a first phosphorus compound, a second phosphorus compound, and a third phosphorus compound, wherein the first phosphorus compound is present in the lubricant composition in an amount to provide between about 120 and 350 ppm phosphorus. The lubricant composition may provide robust anti-wear and reduced pitting.
Lubricating composition comprising a diester
Lubricating compositions for motor vehicles are disclosed. The lubricating composition is of grade according to the SAE J300 classification defined by the formula (X)W(Y), wherein X represents 0 or 5; and Y represents an integer ranging from 4 to 20; and comprises at least one diester of formula R.sup.a—C(O)—O—([C(R).sub.2].sub.n—O).sub.s—C(O)—R.sup.b (I). The composition may be used as a lubricant for an engine, in particular a vehicle engine, to reduce the fuel consumption of the engine and to improve engine cleanliness.
Lubricating composition with alkylated naphthylamine
A lubricating composition includes an oil of lubricating viscosity, an N-alkyl naphthylamine, and at least one ashless antioxidant selected from a diarylamine antioxidant, a phenolic antioxidant, and mixtures thereof. The lubricating composition has a phosphorus content of less than 0.15 weight percent. The combination of the N-alkyl naphthylamine and ashless antioxidant provides a beneficial effect on the basicity of the composition without negatively impacting seals performance.
Polyalkylene glycol lubricant compositions
The present disclosure provides A lubricant composition comprises an antioxidant; and an esterified polyalkylene glycol: R.sup.1[O(R.sup.2O).sub.n(R.sup.3O).sub.m(C═O)R.sup.4].sub.p, wherein R.sup.1 is a linear alkyl having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, a branched alkyl having 4 to 18 carbon atoms or an aryl with 6 to 30 carbon atoms; R.sup.2O is an oxypropylene moiety derived from 1,2-propylene oxide; R.sup.3O is an oxybutylene moiety derived from butylene oxide, wherein R.sup.2O and R.sup.3O are in a block or a random distribution; R.sup.4 is a linear alkyl with 1 to 18 carbon atoms, a branched alkyl with 4 to 18 carbon atoms or an aryl with 6 to 18 carbon atoms; n and m are each independently integers ranging from 0 to 20 wherein n+m is greater than 0, and p is an integer from 1 to 4, wherein the antioxidant is present in an amount by weight of at least 0.5% to 20% based upon the weight of the antioxidant and the esterified polyalkylene glycol and the antioxidant is soluble in the esterified polyalkylene glycol in an amount of at least 0.5% by weight. The lubricant composition may be used as an additive to form a hydrocarbon lubricant composition.
Base oil or lubricant additive
The present invention is toward a base oil or lubricant additives, methods of using the same, lubricant compositions including the same, and methods of forming the lubricant compositions. A base oil or lubricant additive has Structure I or Structure II as described herein.
Anaerobic lubricant sealant
Anaerobic sealant lubricant compositions and uses are disclosed. The anaerobic sealant lubricant compositions cure anaerobically but have lubricity for easy disassembly, making the compositions well suited for fasteners and threaded components.
Lubricating oil composition and lubricating agent using same
An aspect of the present invention relates to a lubricant composition containing at least: (A) 50 to 80 mass % of silicone oil represented by formula (1) below, and having a mass-average molecular weight of 900 to 4000, a ratio (C/Si ratio) of carbon to silicon of 3.03 or higher in the structure, and a viscosity index (VI) of 300 or higher; (B) 10 to 49 mass % of hydrocarbon-based lubricant; and (C) 1 to 10 mass % of antioxidant.
Lubricating oil composition
Disclosed is a lubricating oil composition capable of inhibiting vibrations or noises generated between a pulley and a chain or between a pulley and a belt in a CVT or the like, while increasing an intermetallic friction coefficient, the composition containing a base oil, an alkaline earth metal-based detergent (A), a phosphite ester (B1), a phosphate ester amine salt (B2), an acidic phosphate ester (B3), an aliphatic monoamine (C1), and an aromatic monoamine (C2).
ZINC-FREE LUBRICATING COMPOSITION
The invention is directed to a zinc-free lubricating composition for an internal combustion engine containing a phosphorus anti-wear agent, an ashless antioxidant, and a metal-free basic detergent. The lubricating composition provides wear protection, deposit control, and improved acid control with reduced levels of metal-containing additives.
VAPOR PHASE CORROSION INHIBITION
The disclosed technology relates to the inhibition of corrosion on electrically conductive componentry subjected to a lubricant composition, but that is not submersed in the lubricant composition, or in other words, vapor phase corrosion inhibition. The technology more particularly relates to the use of azole compounds capable of inhibiting corrosion of the electrically conductive componentry in the vapor space above a lubricant composition, and often in the liquid phase of the lubricant composition as well.
