System, apparatus and method for applying UAN liquid fertilizer to the soil
A system, an apparatus and a method for uniformly applying UAN fertilizing liquid to soil on farmland for the purpose of increasing crop yields. The system has an UAN sprayer distribution rail applicator apparatus which may be pulled behind a tow vehicle or pushed by a sprayer or fertilizer applicator. The atmospheric tank contains UAN fertilizing liquid which passes from a pump, through a safety shut-off valve, and through a turbine style flow meter. A safety bypass line is provided upstream of the flow meter to relieve unsafe hydraulic pressure back through a pressure-sensitive valve in the event that multiple control valves close simultaneously. Flow through this bypass line also provides mixing of the UAN fertilizing liquid during cold weather. Upon exiting the flow meter, the UAN fluid enters the center of a distribution rail assembly. Spray nozzles with individual automatic shut-off valves are spaced across the distribution rail assembly.
Anhydrous Ammonia Trailer Hitch
An anhydrous ammonia trailer hitch incorporating a base; a vehicle mounting receiver hitch fixedly attached to and extending forwardly from the base; a bolt mounted to the base, the bolt being adapted for moving between latching and releasing positions; a release plate having a first eye fitted for receiving the bolt, the bolt extending into the eye upon movement to the latching position; a remotely actuatable linear motion actuator connected operatively to the bolt for moving the bolt between the latching and releasing position; a tongue mount fixedly attached to the release plate; and at least a first safety chain mount fixedly attached to the release plate.
Systems and methods for suppressing vaporization of volatile fluids in agricultural fluid application systems
Systems and methods for suppressing vaporization of a volatile fluid dispensed from a pressure vessel are provided. The system includes an evaporator coupled in thermal communication with a first flow of volatile fluid from the vessel and in fluid communication with a second flow of volatile fluid from the vessel. The evaporator includes at least one channel for channeling the second flow of volatile fluid therethrough. A metering valve is coupled in fluid communication with the channel and between the evaporator and the vessel. In addition, the system includes a compressor coupled in fluid communication with and downstream from the at least one channel. Moreover, the system includes a return line coupled in fluid communication with an outlet of the compressor. The compressor is configured to compress the second flow of volatile fluid and channel the compressed second flow of volatile fluid to the pressure vessel via the return line.
FERTILIZER KNIFE
A fertilizer knife for applying fertilizer to soil. The fertilizer knife includes a knife body having a primary chamber through a rearward end thereof. Fins diverge laterally outwardly from a tip at a lower forward end of the knife body and curve upwardly from the lower forward end, terminating above a discharge end of the primary chamber. Liquid from a liquid source is communicated to the primary chamber and is discharged from the discharge end into the furrow formed by the fertilizer knife. In another embodiment, a secondary passage through the knife body communicates gas from a gas supply into a gap surrounding a supply tube disposed within the primary chamber. In another embodiment flow controllers disposed on the knife regulate liquid into the primary chamber and gas into the secondary passage.
Anhydrous ammonia tank trailer
An anhydrous ammonia trailer including first and second longitudinally extending frame members having first and second cross-members selectively removably secured to the frame member with the cross-members being longitudinally adjustably secured to the frame member. The cross-members enable the trailer to have first and second ammonia tanks mounted on the trailer. The trailer also enables a single ammonia tank to be supported on the adjustable cross-members.
DUAL FERTILIZER COMPOSITION INCLUDING AMMONIUM ACETATE AND USES THEREOF
A fertilizer is provided to promote plant growth that provides needed nutrients to a crop at planting that has a depressed freezing temperature relative to conventional liquid fertilizers. The fertilizer has a first fertilizer product including a bio-available nitrogen source, a bio-available phosphorus source, and a bio-available potassium source that is blended with a second fertilizer product including an amount of ammonium acetate. The first and second fertilizer products being present in synergistically effective amounts, such that the coordinated amounts of the first and second fertilizer products give crop yields greater than a mere additive effect obtainable through the use of the respective first and second fertilizer products alone in the same amounts. The synergistically effective amounts of the first and second fertilizer products are directed to particular crops, and depend upon the crop in question, soil conditions, ambient weather, and other factors.
Supply tube assembly for monitoring a directed stream measuring the liquid of an agricultural product application rate through a supply tube
A supply tube assembly for measuring a liquid agricultural product application rate. An upstream portion of a supply tube has an upstream portion outlet end. A downstream portion has a downstream portion inlet end. The sensor body assembly includes a sensor body, a first sensing plate, and a second sensing plate. The sensor body has a sensor inlet end positioned to receive an inlet flow of the liquid agricultural product from the upstream portion and a sensor outlet end positioned to receive an outlet flow of the liquid agricultural product. The sensor body is an enclosure having a cross sectional area larger than the cross sectional area of the upstream portion of the supply tube and the downstream portion of the supply tube. Electronic components are configured to measure the liquid agricultural product application rate between the first sensing plate and the second sensing plate.
Ground-engaging implement with lateral position adjustment
A carrier adjustment assembly for coupling to a frame member of an implement includes a laterally adjustable carrier configured to be coupled to an opener and a first outlet providing at least one nutrient. The assembly further includes a plurality of lateral spacers positioned adjacent to the carrier to laterally adjust the carrier and provide a plurality of adjustment positions. The carrier adjustment assembly facilitates lateral adjustment of the carrier by removal of at least one captively held lateral spacer that sets the lateral adjustment of the carrier, a lateral adjustment of the first outlet, and an adjustment of a lateral separation between a seed row provided by a second outlet and a nutrient row provided by the first outlet.
ROBOTIC PLATFORM AND METHOD FOR PERFORMING MULTIPLE FUNCTIONS IN AGRICULTURAL SYSTEMS
An autonomous vehicle platform system and method configured to perform various in-season management tasks, including selectively applying fertilizer, mapping growth zones and seeding cover crop within an agricultural field, while self-navigating between rows of planted crops and beneath the canopy of the planted crops on the uneven terrain of an agricultural field, allowing for an ideal in-season application of fertilizer to occur once the planted crop is well established and growing rapidly, in an effort to limit the loss of fertilizer.
