Soil conditioner injection systems that can provide a variety of benefits, including the fast and efficient amendment of soil with soil conditioner without requiring tillage and in a manner that significantly reduces or eliminates any inadvertent runoff of the soil conditioner, for example, from rain. In some examples the soil conditioner injection systems of the present disclosure include soil conditioner injectors that include a soil plug remover configured to remove a first volume of soil from a first location and a sleeved hammer configured to form a recess in soil and inject soil conditioner into the recess.

Sapling retrieval apparatus for planting saplings

A system for a high-efficiency planting operation for a work machine for planting saplings. The system comprises a conveying unit to store at least one tray of saplings and to transport the tray of saplings towards a gripping unit. The gripping unit retrieves at least one sapling from the tray and to release at least one sapling towards an indexing unit. The indexing unit is coupled to the gripping unit and individually releases a sapling for planting. A planting unit receives the sapling from the indexing unit and delivers the sapling into a ground. A sensing module is coupled to a plurality of sensors to detect a set of parameters and generates data input signals based on the parameters. A controller receives the data input signals and provides feedback to the conveying unit, the indexing unit or the planting unit to adjust actuators in response to the data input signals.

SAPLING RETRIEVAL APPARATUS FOR PLANTING SAPLINGS

A sapling retrieval apparatus coupled to a chassis, which extends in a fore-aft direction, includes ground-engaging supports to facilitate propelling the chassis. The sapling retrieval apparatus comprises a gripping unit for retrieving a linear row of saplings from a tray and releasing the row of saplings, a transfer unit, and an indexing unit. The transfer unit moves the released linear row of saplings to the indexing unit for individual delivery of a sapling for planting as the chassis is propelled.

A soil bed covering and planting apparatus is adapted to be carried along the length of a soil bed by a conveyer vehicle and includes a cover material reel configured to retain and supply a sheet of cover material, and a compaction roller configured to feed cover material over a soil bed and to press the cover material onto the soil bed. Two spike hammers are positioned adjacent to and at opposite sides of the compaction roller, each being configured to drive at least one spike through the cover material into the soil bed. An actuation structure is associated with each spike hammer and urges the spike hammer against a spike. A piercing assembly forms a series of holes in the sheet of cover material and engages with a drive structure that reciprocates the piercing assembly to drive one end of the piercing assembly through the sheet of cover material.

High-speed transplanting mechanism

Described is a high-speed transplanting mechanism that includes an angle-adjusting device about an angle of a duckbill entering soil, the mechanism comprising a rear arm, a front arm, a restoring spring, a control wire, a control wire sleeve and a control adjuster. The front arm is hinged on the mounting base of the planting device, the rear arm is hinged on the duckbill planting device, and the another end of the rear arm and the front arm are axial sliding connection. The control adjuster comprises an adjuster body and a handle fixed on the adjuster body. The restoring spring is positioned between the first limit plate on the rear arm and the second limit plate on the front arm. The end of the control wire is fixed on the second limit plate and, in turn, the other end of the control wire passes through the first limit plate, the restoring spring, the second limit plate and the control wire sleeve, and finally fixed to the adjuster body. The angle of the duckbill into the soil can be adjusted by tightening or loosening the control wire. The pot seedling can be supported and pushed upright by the forward inertia force as the wheel turns the soil, breaking through the theory of zero-velocity seedling transplanting. The planting pot seedling speed of the disclosed mechanism is more than 60 seedlings per minute, and the quality and efficiency of planting pot seedlings are improved.
