Sickle Cutter System
In a sickle cutting system, it has been found that a significant reduction in average stubble length, which is calculated based on the distance crop is pushed forwardly without cutting occurring, can be obtained by a combination of the features where the length of the cutting edge of each knife blade from a transverse rearmost cutting line at which a cutting action occurs is increased to a length greater than 2.2 inches; the width at the rear of the ledger surface of each guard is increased to greater than 1.2 inches; and the front edge of the blade is formed with an apex to shed crop material to one or other side of the apex.

CUTTING APPARATUS
A cutting apparatus for a header of an agricultural harvester includes a first wheel and a second wheel. A drive source is configured to selectively drive the first wheel in a clockwise direction or an anticlockwise direction. A knife carrier, including a loop having a running side and a knife-carrying side, is tensioned around the first and second wheels for transmitting torque from the drive source to rotate the wheels and the knife carrier. A plurality of knives cut crop mounted to the knife-carrying surface of the knife carrier. A sensor monitors operation of the knives.

Lawn mower having a maintenance tool for maintaining a cutting blade
A lawn mower includes: a rotation shaft coupled to a power source and extending in an approximately vertical direction; a blade configured to rotate integrally with the rotation shaft; and a housing having a downward opening and accommodating the blade such that the blade is rotatable; and a maintenance tool provided on the housing, the maintenance tool being contactable with the blade from the above. A cutting portion of the blade is capable of moving between a maintenance position at which the cutting portion is contactable with the maintenance tool and an operating position at which the cutting portion mows a lawn.

Agricultural harvester cutter bar with stationary and reciprocating knife sections
A header for use by an agricultural harvester. The header includes a cutter bar that cuts crop material and includes a stationary knife section and a plurality of reciprocating knife sections extending along a portion of the stationary knife section. A substantial part of the length of the reciprocating knife sections do not extend along any portion of the stationary knife section.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR REVITALIZING ARTIFICIAL TURF FIELDS
Apparatus and methods for revitalizing artificial turf fields are disclosed. In one exemplary apparatus, the apparatus may comprise a support frame, a plurality of shearing machines installed on the support frame, and a plurality of wheels installed on the support frame. The support frame may be configured to position the shearing machines parallel to each other, to tilt the shearing machines with respect a surface of the artificial turf field, and to position the shearing machines above a surface of the field at a distance such that the shearing machines cut fibers to produce trimmed fibers that have a length that can extend above infill or topmost layer of the artificial turf field. Methods for revitalizing artificial turf fields using the same are also disclosed.
HEADER CUTTING SYSTEM WITH KNIFE GUARDS
A cutting system for a harvesting header includes a transversely extending cutter bar, a transversely extending knife back, a knife section mounted to the knife back having a knife edge extending generally in a forward direction, a knife guard component having a front guard portion and a rear portion interconnected by a medial portion having a recess. The medial portion is configured for receiving a lengthwise portion of the knife back with the knife section being received into, and the knife section is operable to move transversely into and out of a cutting slot in the front guard portion. A hold down component is located between an upper surface of the rear portion of the knife guard component and an underneath surface of the cutter bar, and an attachment mechanism is operable to secure the knife guard component and the hold down component to the underneath surface of the cutter bar.
