SINGLE LINE WEED VEGETATION TRIMMER AND/OR EDGER WITH CONTINUOUS LINE FEED
Line trimmers and/or edgers for weed and vegetation are discussed. One example embodiment comprises: a trimmer head configured to rotate a portion of a trimmer line comprising a cutting end of the trimmer line; a trimmer motor configured to drive the rotation of the trimmer head; a continuous line feed mechanism configured to continuously feed the trimmer line into the trimmer head while the continuous line feed mechanism is active; and one or more line feed activation mechanisms configured to control an activation and a deactivation of the continuous line feed mechanism.
STRING TRIMMER HEAD
A trimmer head for use with a string trimmer including a drive shaft includes a housing rotatable about a rotational axis. The housing includes a main body defining a cavity, and a cap removably coupled to the main body. The trimmer head further includes a spool supported in the cavity and operable to support line to be dispensed, a retainer positioned between the housing and the spool, and a nut positioned within the spool and configured to drivingly couple to the drive shaft.
STRING TRIMMER ASSEMBLY AND TRIMMER HEAD FOR USE WITH SAME
A string trimmer assembly includes a trimmer head rotatably driven by a drive shaft and defining a cavity, a spool supported in the cavity of the trimmer head and operable to support line to be dispensed, which is dispensable though an opening in the trimmer head, and a bump protruding from a distal end of the trimmer head. The bump includes a wear surface on a terminating end of the bump, and the wear surface and the opening define a cutting height.
STRING TRIMMER ASSEMBLY AND TRIMMER HEAD FOR USE WITH SAME
A string trimmer assembly includes a trimmer head rotatably driven by a drive shaft and defining a cavity, a spool supported in the cavity of the trimmer head and operable to support line to be dispensed, and a flange formed on the spool. The spool includes a through hole for receiving the line, which is dispensable though an opening in the trimmer head. The flange is formed on the spool in a common plane with the opening and with the through hole. The flange separates the line into a first line portion and a second line portion. The first line portion is positioned on a first side of the flange, and the second line portion is positioned on a second side of the flange.
GRASS TRIMMER
A grass trimmer includes a trimming head, a driving device for driving the trimming head to rotate so as to cut vegetation and an operating device for a user to operate so as to control the driving device. The trimming head includes a spool and a line holding element, the spool is used to wind a trimming line, and the line holding element is formed with a line holding structure. The driving device includes a motor. The grass trimmer has an auto-winding mode. In the auto-winding mode, the motor drives at least one of the spool and the line holding element to make the spool and the line holding element rotate relatively so that the trimming line is wound on the spool automatically.
POWER TOOL
A subassembly for a trimmer head of a power tool, the subassembly including: a flywheel; and a cartridge including a segment of trimmer line, wherein the cartridge is removably keyed to the flywheel, wherein the subassembly is configured to be operatively coupled to a motor of the power tool, and wherein the subassembly is removably positionable in a housing of the power tool.
Grass trimming head and grass trimmer having the same
A grass trimming head includes a housing assembly and a spool. The housing assembly is formed with a housing cavity and an outer aperture for allowing a cutting line to be inserted from an outside of the housing assembly into the housing cavity. At least a portion of the spool is arranged inside the housing cavity, and the spool is rotatable with respect to the housing assembly about a central axis. The spool is formed with an inner aperture for allowing the cutting line to be inserted into the spool or a clamping portion configured to fix the cutting line.
Spool for straight through line feed vegetation trimmer apparatus with modules and spokes
A trimmer head for use with either clockwise or counterclockwise trimmer heads, including the use of a bidirectionally dispensing spool. Various locations of passages straight through the trimmer head and spool are shown along with various locations of components of the ratcheting mechanism to allow for winding of the trimmer line on the trimmer head and for limiting the amount of line dispensed during “bumping” of the trimmer head knob on the ground. Additionally, an extended funnel into the passage can be provided to facilitate entrance of trimmer line into the funnel even when the line is not perfectly straight. Also, spokes can be used in place of the flanges of the spool to save material and cost, while still providing a guide and barrier between the line store areas.
Externally windable trimmer head
The cutting head assembly object of the present invention comprises a trimmer line feed mechanism and a trimmer line winding mechanism. A lower cover member coupled to the housing member and has a central opening to hold a ground engaging button member. The ground engaging button member is rotationally engaged to the spool. The upper section of the ground engaging button member and the internal walls of the cover ring have radially and axially extending structures which cooperate with each other to provide a ratcheting and indexing mechanisms that allows controlled rotation of the spool which is constrained from axial movement relative to the housing member by biasing the force of a compression spring which also maintains the ground engaging member in an extended position. The winding mechanism allows to manually turn the knob in one direction while the indexing mechanism allows to control rotational increments of the knob to allow the spool to release controlled increments of line when the ground engaging member is bumped against the ground and to stop rotation of the spool during normal running position.
