Another example includes ground engaging members on opposite sides of the lawn maintenance device being located at different distances from a central axis of the cutting blade.

MOWER CUTTING UNIT LIFT SYSTEM

A mower cutting unit lift system includes a rotary motor connected to a power supply and turning an output shaft connected to a bell crank. A flexible link between the bell crank and a lift arm is used to lift a cutting unit to a transport position if the rotary motor turns the output shaft and the bell crank in a first direction, and lower the cutting unit to a mowing position if the rotary motor turns the output shaft and the bell crank in a second direction.

A conditioner roller vibration sensing mechanism having first and second rotatable conditioner rollers spaced apart in close proximity to each other and between which cut crop can be directed as the rollers rotate during operation. The first roller is shiftable with respect to the second roller for adjusting the spacing between the rollers. The rollers vibrate when the rollers are spaced in such close proximity to each other that they contact each other as they rotate. An arm pivotally mounted to a frame supports the first roller, and the frame supports the second roller. The arm is movable to shift the first roller with respect to the second roller. An accelerometer is operatively coupled to the rollers for sensing the vibration created when the first and second rollers are positioned so close to each other to contact each other.

The mower includes lateral articulated beams linking the cutting units. The beams are foldable inwardly and forwardly.

The methods include providing a mower having a plurality of cutting heads, a first driven wheel supported at a first end of the plurality of cutting heads, and a second driven wheel supported at a second end of the length of the plurality of cutting heads. In some methods, each cutting head of the plurality of cutting heads is at least one of pivotably connected or translatably connected to at least one other cutting head of the plurality of cutting heads. Some methods include driving the first driven wheel such that the mower pivots about the second driven wheel.
