THRESHING CONCAVE FOR USE IN A COMBINE HARVESTER
20230041302 · 2023-02-09 ·

A threshing concave has two curved end plates spaced from one another and a set of concave bars extending between the end plates. An elongate gap is presented between each adjacent pair of the concave bars, through which gaps threshed grain can pass during operation. Concave rods extend in the same direction as the end plates and through holes provided in the concave bars. One or more blanking plates are releasably bolted to the end plates and extend along respective elongate gaps.

VARIABLE CROSS-SECTION VANE FOR TRANSITION CONE IN COMBINE HARVESTER

An agricultural harvester includes a threshing system having a rotor, a rotor cage surrounding the rotor and including a concave, and a transition cone defining an infeed to the rotor cage. The transition cone has a conical inner surface extending in an axial direction between an upstream end and a downstream end of the cone. A vane is mounted to the conical inner surface of the transition cone. The vane protrudes radially from the conical inner surface, and extends along an axial direction between the upstream end and the downstream end. The vane has a body extending along an axis and a cross-sectional shape that is not constant along the axis.

Concave with adjustable openings

A concave section for a harvester includes a concave body having an upstream side, a downstream side, a leading end and a trailing end. The concave body defines an arcuate crop engagement face facing radially inwardly. A plurality of crop passage openings are defined through the arcuate crop engagement face. A cover is configured to at least partially cover at least some of the crop passage openings. The cover is carried by the concave body and is movable thereon between at least two different positions to adjust a degree of openness of at least some of the crop passage openings.

A threshing concave assembly is disclosed having a threshing concave bar wherein the threshing bar is comprised of two threshing surfaces having a dihedral angle relationship relative to each other. In addition, in another aspect the threshing bar can be comprised of two dihedral surfaces whereby one surface face has about 130% greater surface area than its adjacent surface face. Alternatively, one surface face of the threshing bar can be 1.3× wider than its adjacent surface face. In another aspect the threshing bar can be comprised of two dihedral surfaces whereby one surface face has about a 170% greater surface area than its adjacent surface face.
