A BALER AND METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING UNIFORMITY OF THE DENSITY OF A ROUND BALE
A belt baler (1) comprising a chassis (5) supported on ground engaging wheels (6) comprises a housing (3) having a first part (8) and a second part (10) housing belts (20) defining a variable diameter bale chamber (25). The second part (10) is pivotally coupled to the first part (8) about a pivot axis (14) and is pivotal from a closed state for forming a bale and an open state for discharge of a bale from the bale chamber (25). A pair of retaining devices (39) comprising latches (40) on respective opposite sides of the first part (8) are engageable with corresponding latch pins (45) on respective opposite sides of the second part (10) for retaining the second part (10) in the closed state. Load sensors (59) coupled by first and second connecting members (64,65) between distal ends (49) of the respective latch pins (45) and anchor brackets (60) located on the second parts (10) produce signals indicative of the forces induced in the respective retaining devices (39) by the pressure being applied to a bale being formed in the bale chamber (25). A microprocessor (75) reads signals from the load sensors (59) and determines the uniformity or non-uniformity of the density of the bale across the axial length thereof from the signals read from the load sensors (59). An output signal from the microprocessor (75) is applied to a visual display device (77) which presents a display screen (78) to a driver indicating the direction of travel or a change in direction of travel of the baler (1) required to maintain uniform density or to correct for non-uniformity of the density of the bale by appropriately displaying a central cross sign (80), or arrows (83) in respective sections (81) of an area (79) of the screen (78).
Traveling vehicle and working vehicle
A tractor includes a controller configured to make a determination as to whether stopping control is necessary and to start the stopping control, based on a relation between a target bale size and a current bale size and a stopping distance corresponding to a vehicle speed and a surrounding environment.
Baler connectable to a tractor for providing round bales and method for producing round bales
A baler includes a chamber having a fixed size that receives crops and houses a formed bale. A tailgate is connected to a frame and is movable between a closed position, for cooperating with the frame to delimit the chamber, and an open position, for discharging the formed bale. A conveying assembly delimits the chamber for imparting a rotating movement to the crops contained in the chamber, and has a first portion provided in the frame and a second portion provided in the tailgate. An actuator includes a closing chamber and moves the tailgate from the open position to the closed position upon receiving an actuating fluid in the closing chamber. A binder binds the formed bale, and a pressure sensor detects a control signal representative of a pressure inside the closing chamber of the actuator. A control unit generates an alert signal as a function of the control signal.
AGRICULTURAL IMPLEMENT SYSTEM WITH A CONTROLLER FOR DETECTING AND MITIGATING PLUG CONDITIONS
An agricultural implement system includes an agricultural implement and a controller. The agricultural implement includes: a chassis; a pickup carried by the chassis and configured to rotate and convey crop material; a movable windguard carried by the chassis; and a windguard displacement sensor associated with the windguard and configured to output windguard displacement signals corresponding to a displacement of the windguard relative to a zero position. The controller is configured to: determine a plug condition exists when the displacement of the windguard exceeds a defined displacement; and output at least one plug condition mitigation signal to adjust at least one parameter of the agricultural implement system and mitigate the plug condition responsively to determining the plug condition exists.
Agricultural machine
An agricultural machine includes a baler controller configured or programmed to obtain an ejector inclination value from a positional relation between a tractor inclination sensor and a bale ejector of a baler, the ejector inclination value being a sensor value of the inclination sensor corresponding to the bale ejector, and to allow ejection of the bale when a size of the bale in the baler is larger than a first threshold value and the ejector inclination value is less than a second threshold value.
Pickup drive system for an agricultural baler
A pickup unit of an agricultural baler that includes a reel with a plurality of tines configured for lifting a crop material from a field, the reel is rotatable in an operating direction and a reverse direction, and a drive system configured for driving the reel. The drive system includes a gearbox configured for receiving motive power from a power take off (PTO) shaft, a drive shaft operably connected to the gearbox, and a first clutch connected to the drive shaft. The first clutch is configured for operably disconnecting motive power to the reel so that the reel is manually rotatable as the PTO shaft remains operably engaged with the gearbox.
Agricultural baler with looped roll
A roll for an agricultural baler includes an interior tube and an exterior tube surrounding and connected to the interior tube. The exterior tube has an exterior surface and a plurality of loops extending from the exterior surface of the exterior tube.
WORM CONVEYOR AND PRESS
A worm conveyor is proposed for a press, in particular an agricultural baler, having at least one roll, screw flights winding in opposing directions at least in some regions around the roll being provided on the peripheral surface thereof for conveying material, wherein the screw flights are configured such that they bring together the material in two collecting regions arranged outside a central region of the worm conveyor. A press, in particular an agricultural baler having at least one roller, a flexible pressing means winding around the roller and at least one worm conveyor are also proposed.
Bale shape monitoring system
A bale monitoring system includes an imaging device that is operable to capture a stereoscopic image of a bale. A computing compares the stereoscopic image of the bale to a three-dimensional standard to identify a deviation of the bale from the three-dimensional standard. The computing device may then assign the bale a shape quality score based on the deviation of the bale from the three-dimensional standard. The shape quality score may indicate a magnitude of the deviation of the bale from the three-dimensional standard. Additionally, the stereoscopic image may be analyzed to identify characteristics of the bale, such as a broken wrap material or an improperly formed bale.
BALING APPARATUS
A round baler having a baling chamber, a wrapping material reservoir, a feed apparatus having an actuator, the feed apparatus configured to convey a wrapping material from the wrapping material reservoir to the baling chamber, a cutting apparatus moveable between a retracted position allowing free movement of the wrapping material and an advanced position to cut the wrapping material, and a braking apparatus for applying a braking force on a roll of wrapping material installed in the wrapping material reservoir, and an actuator for controlling operation of the feed apparatus and the cutting apparatus. The round baler further comprises a tensioning element connecting the actuator to the braking apparatus to control a down force exerted on the roll of wrapping material and so control the tension in the wrapping material.
