Durable Fiber Plant Growth Containers and Related Materials and Methods

Described herein are biodegradable plant pots comprising an additive such as polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polyvinyl acetate (PVAC), lime, a wax emulsion, or a combination thereof. The additives may be incorporated into the biodegradable plant pots during production, or impregnated into an additive-free biodegradable plant pot. Also described herein are methods and kits for making a biodegradable plant pot.

PACKAGING COMPRISING SEEDS
20230008038 · 2023-01-12 · ·

A packaging article comprising a wall having an outer surface and an inner surface is disclosed along with methods of forming the packaging article. A first patch consisting essentially of an adhesive and one or more materials that biodegrade within about 6 months include a first seed associated therewith. The first patch is adhered to the inner surface of the packaging article and is removable therefrom without a use of a tool, by a human being. The first seed is configured to remain associated with the first patch after removal of the first patch from the inner surface, and the first seed has at least a 50% likelihood of germinating within thirty days after deployment of the first patch under at least about one inch of soil under climatic and meteorological conditions appropriate for germination of the first seed.

Planting bag

A planting bag formed from biodegradable material and sized for receipt of a planting. The planting bag having a water delivery system comprising at least two distribution lines secured to the bag and a splitter for coupling to a conventional water hose. A fertilizer admixture and water absorbing polymer are impregnated into the side wall of the bag allowing close proximity to the root ball of the planting to minimize the loss of fertilizer and provide a means for directing water around the planting root ball.

DISPOSABLE KITCHEN UTENSILS AND CUTLERY
20220354285 · 2022-11-10 ·

The invention relates to disposable utensils such as kitchen utensils and cutlery. The technical problem is how to adapt the utensil to get extra usability and to allow its biodegradation after its primary use for serving or consuming food. The problem is solved by utensils comprising an elongated flat handle connected via a neck to a part of a food handling utensil, the handle having a through hole at the proximal end, and the utensil further comprising at least one plant seed arranged in the through hole, and a biodegradable, preferably composting barrier arranged on the handle so as to close the through hole on both sides and retain the plant seed in the through hole. The barrier can be formed as a film made of chitosan, alginate, gelatine or from a starch-based material, from cellulose-based material or protein-based material obtained from chicken gluten or casein. Having completed its primary use, the utensil is used as a planting tool that also serves as a support to a plant and gets eventually naturally degraded.

Container, such as a tray or strip, with cutting edges
11490573 · 2022-11-08 · ·

A container, such as a pot, strip or tray, comprising at least one accommodation for at least one specimen from a group, comprising: plants; seeds; seedlings; cuttings and the like, where the accommodation is configured to be filled with a substrate and the container exhibits at least a side wall, a bottom and a top surface to accommodate the substrate and the specimen in the substrate, of which at least a portion of the top surface is open to enable growth of the specimen there through in a longitudinal direction. The side wall includes a completely open passage which is dimensioned for inserting or extracting a block of substrate with essentially a full size of an interior of the accommodation into or from the interior through the passage in a sideways direction relative to the longitudinal direction, where at least the side wall includes a cutting edge alongside the passage.
