Automated seed sampler and methods of sampling, testing and bulking seeds
An automated method for sampling seeds generally includes removing material from a seed at an automated sampling station and then, after removing the material from the seed, detecting, by at least one sensor, movement of the seed out of the automated sampling station. The automated method may also include, after removing the material from the seed, transferring the seed from the automated sampling station to a seed container and transferring the material removed from the seed from the automated sampling station to a sample container.
PREPARATION AND USE OF PLANT EMBRYO EXPLANTS FOR TRANSFORMATION
The present invention relates to excision of explant material comprising meristematic tissue from seeds, and storage of such material prior to subsequent use in plant tissue culture and genetic transformation. Methods for tissue preparation, storage, and transformation are disclosed, as is transformable meristem tissue produced by such methods, and apparati for tissue preparation.
METHOD OF MERISTEM EXCISION AND TRANSFORMATION
The present invention relates to excision of explant material comprising meristematic tissue from cotton seeds. Methods for tissue preparation, storage, transformation, and selection or identification of transformed plants are disclosed, as are transformable meristem tissues and plants produced by such methods, and apparati for tissue preparation.
Method and apparatus for substantially isolating plant tissues
The present invention discloses and claims methods and devices for the rapid mechanical isolation of monocot plant tissues suitable for transformation or tissue culture. The invention includes mechanical devices for substantially isolating target plant tissues for use as transformable explants, and propagation of transgenic plants and plant tissues.
PLANT TISSUE CULTURE DEVICES AND METHODS OF CULTURING AND HARVESTING PLANT SHOOT TIPS
The present disclosure describes a method of culturing and harvesting plant shoot tips. The method includes providing a sterile vessel configured to hold at least one plant with one or more root masses and a first set of shoot tips, cutting across a base of the shoot tips with the one or more root masses held in the vessel to cut a first plurality of cut shoot tips at a first time; then growing a second set of shoot tips from the one or more root masses in the vessel; and then cutting across the one or more root masses held in the vessel to cut a second plurality of cut shoot tips. Plant tissue culture devices are also described.
Methods for plant transformation using spectinomycin selection
The present invention relates to methods and compositions for transforming soybean, corn, cotton, or canola explants using spectinomycin as a selective agent for transformation of the explants. The method may further comprise treatment of the explants with cytokinin during the transformation and regeneration process.
Apparatus for the preparation and use of plant embryo explants for transformation
