An edible dog chew toy includes: (i) a tough chewable material (e.g., a natural rawhide or a synthetic “rawhide-type” material); and (ii) one or more active ingredients that are useful for promoting a calming effect on a dog. The toy is extremely appetizing for dogs, and the smell and taste of the toy (or a treat member provided therein) constantly entices the dog to chew the toy over a substantial portion of the life of the toy.

An interactive system for pets comprising: a pet interaction device arranged to engage and capture an actuating motion of a pet, the pet interaction device comprising: one or more actuators for actuation by the pet, the one or more actuators configured to produce a stimulus for the pet or owner, a computing apparatus comprising a processing unit and a memory unit, wherein the processing unit is in communication with the one or more actuators and configured to stimulate or receive the actuating motion of the pet, and wherein the processing unit is further arranged to process the captured actuating motion and communicate the captured actuating motion to the owner.

An inclination of the treadmill may be automatically adjusted according to positions detected by the sensors, and the fragrance assembly, attachment module, and inclination may be automatically operated in accordance with an exercise program played on the display.

A dog toy assembly includes an elongated stick with a toy attachment on an end. A toy is attached to the toy attachment. By holding and manipulating the stick during play, a user obtains leverage to accurately and quickly control the toy. The toy attachment may be removably attached to the stick, may be rotatable, and may include loops, hooks, concave sections, and rings. A locking sleeve may be included to keep the toy attached. The stick may include a handle and may be flexible. A leg strap including an eyelet through which the stick passes may be worn by the user to provide a pivot point and allow one-handed play while seated. One variation of a method for autonomously training animals to respond to oral commands includes: prompting a user to select a training protocol; prompting the user to record a first audio clip of the user reciting a voice command associated with a target pose within the training protocol, the user affiliated with the animal; accessing a video feed recorded by an optical sensor during a first training session; in the video feed, detecting the animal within a working field; while the animal is detected in the working field, playing back the first audio clip; in the video feed, detecting a current pose of the animal; calculating a deviation between the current pose of the animal and the target pose; in response to the deviation falling within a threshold: playing an audio clip of a secondary reinforcer; and dispensing a unit of a primary reinforcer via an integrated dispenser.

An apparatus, systems, and methods of providing enrichment to poultry during raising or maintaining of the poultry. One or more light sources project beams to generate laser spots at and around the poultry. A control regimen moves the light spots relative the poultry in generally random fashion during timed sessions for each given time period (e.g. each day). The spot movement is designed to promote benefits to poultry and producer in correlation to experimental data related to animal welfare, health, and commercial value.
