RECIRCULATING AQUACULTURE SYSTEM AND METHODS THEREOF
The present disclosure provides a recirculating aquaculture system comprising a) a wastewater treatment system and b) a polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) production system. In particular, poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) can be utilized as the PHA in such a system. Methods of treating wastewater for reuse by contacting the wastewater with one or more zeolites to remove material from the wastewater and reusing the treated wastewater are also provided as well as methods of producing a PHA such as PHB from organic waste. Moreover, food compositions comprising a PHA biomass as well as associated methods are also provided.
METHODS OF DECREASING MUSCLE ATROPHY AND/OR PROMOTING MUSCLE REGENERATION
Methods of decreasing muscle atrophy and/or promoting muscle regeneration in a subject at risk of muscle atrophy comprise orally administering a nutritional composition comprising at least one of protein, fat and carbohydrate, and bovine milk-isolated exosomes comprising intact exosomes. In specific embodiments, the subject suffers from malnutrition, acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS), cancer, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), or a burn injury, or has undergone clinical corticosteroid treatment.
LACTOSE-CONTAINING PRODUCT IN POWDER FORM AND PRODUCTION PROCESS THEREOF
A product in powder form having a dry matter content of at least 90% by weight on its total weight and containing lactose in a quantity of at least 85% by weight on its total weight, as well as having a high bulk density; moreover a process for the production of this product in powder form is disclosed, comprising the steps of vacuum-concentrating a lactose-containing liquid, mixing the so-concentrated liquid with a lactose-containing powder and with a high dry matter content and, finally, drying the so-obtained powdered mixture.
USE AND COMPOSITION OF BUFFER FORMULATION WITH MULTIPLE PH VALUES AND PROTEIN DIGESTION ENHANCER
A composition for enhancing protein digestion is disclosed, which includes at least one acid component, at least one base component and a protein digestion enhancer, wherein the at least one acid component is one selected from a group consisting of an organic acid, a phosphoric acid and a combination thereof, the at least one base component is one selected from a group consisting of an organic base, a phosphate and a combination thereof, the at least one acid component and the at least one base component conjugate with each other to form a buffer formulation, and the protein digestion enhancer is one selected from a group consisting of an ascorbic acid, a salt of the ascorbic acid and a combination thereof.

COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR SOLIDIFIED FERMENTED ANIMAL FEED
The present disclosure provides, inter alia, a method for making a solid fermented product useful for animal feed comprising the steps of adding a source of calcium to a fermented liquid comprising ammonium lactate.
ORAL NOURISHING COMPOSITION AND METHODS THEREOF
The present invention discloses oral compositions for nourishment of a mammalian subject which comprises steviol glycoside, citric acid monohydrate, monosodium glutamate and/or glycine. These compositions, being highly palatable, increase consumption of said composition, further configured to decrease mortality rate, increase weight gain, reduced use of either antibiotics or milk replacers and improve small intestine anatomy of said mammalian.
MITIGATION OF CRYPTOSPORIDIOSIS USING HYDROGEN PEROXIDE-GENERATING COMPOSITIONS
Compositions for preventing or decreasing cryptosporidiosis in animals are disclosed herein. The compositions include sources of hydrogen peroxide and are fed to animals. The animals may be neonatal calves and the cryptosporidiosis may be caused by Cryptosporidium parvum. Methods of preventing or decreasing cryptosporidiosis in animals by feeding the hydrogen peroxide-generating compositions to the animals are also disclosed. Some disclosed methods reduce the number of Cryptosporidium oocysts shed by an infected animal or reduce the infectivity of Cryptosporidium oocysts shed by an infected animal. Some methods include feeding the hydrogen peroxide-generating compositions to animals ultimately afflicted with cryptosporidiosis, and the animals gain weight despite the infection.
Composition and method for orally administering one or more active agents to a pet
A composition and method for administering an active agent to a pet, such as a dog, a cat or a horse. The composition may comprise a yogurt-based chewable delivery matrix and a plurality of water-soluble film pieces dispersed throughout the chewable delivery matrix. The composition may also comprise a delivery matrix having at least 15% by weight of crude protein and a plurality of water-soluble film pieces dispersed throughout the delivery matrix. The plurality of water-soluble film pieces encompass an active agent therein, wherein the active agent is rapidly released from the composition upon contact with saliva from the pet. At least a portion of the released active agents may be oromucosally absorbed by the pet.
