EDIBLE PET CHEW TOY AND METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR USE
An edible dog chew toy includes: (i) a tough chewable material (e.g., a natural rawhide or a synthetic “rawhide-type” material); and (ii) one or more active ingredients that are useful for promoting a calming effect on a dog. The toy is extremely appetizing for dogs, and the smell and taste of the toy (or a treat member provided therein) constantly entices the dog to chew the toy over a substantial portion of the life of the toy.
FEED ADDITIVE FOR IMPROVING PERFORMANCE OF DOMESTICATED ANIMALS
The present disclosure provides a feed additive for domesticated animals that is capable of increasing feed performance, as well as associated methods for promoting growth and zootechnical performance in domesticated animals. The animal feed additive provided contains Total Lignans standardized in the contents of Furoguaiacin-like compounds and Guaiacin-like compounds. The present disclosure also describes methods for improving growth via the dietary inclusion of Total Lignans standardized in Furoguaiacin-like compounds and Guaiacin-like compounds.
ANTIMICROBIAL COMPOSITION CONTAINING WASP EXTRACT AS ACTIVE INGREDIENT
An antimicrobial composition containing a wasp extract, and more particularly, a broad-spectrum antimicrobial composition containing, as an active ingredient, an ethyl acetate fraction recovered by sequential organic solvent fraction of an ethanol extract of Vespa velutina nigrithorax or Vespa simillima simillima Smith. The Vespa velutina nigrithorax extract or the V. simillima simillima Smith extract exhibits excellent broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against gram-positive bacteria, gram-negative bacterial and fungi, and thus may be used for pharmaceutical compositions, health functional foods, cosmetic compositions, animal feed compositions, additives for food, cosmetics or animal feed, various detergents and various cleansers. In addition, the extract has excellent heat stability, and does not lose its activity even under an acidic condition of pH 2.
Composition comprising ethyl vanillin as effective ingredient for exhibiting effect of muscle strengthening, muscle enhancement, muscle differentiation, muscle regeneration, or sarcopenia suppression
The present invention relates to a composition comprising ethyl vanillin or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an effective ingredient for preventing or treating muscle disease or for improving a muscle function. Having the capability of upregulating the expression of a protein associated with muscle protein synthesis and muscle mass increase in myocytes and downregulating at an mRNA level the expression of an enzyme involved in muscle protein degradation, ethyl vanillin can exhibit effects of muscle differentiation, muscle regeneration, and muscle strengthening through an increase in muscle mass against muscle diseases attributed to muscle function decrease, muscle consumption, or muscle degradation and can suppress sarcopenia. Thus, ethyl vanillin can be used for preventing or treating muscle diseases or for promoting muscle differentiation, muscle regeneration and muscle strengthening, muscle mass increase, or muscle generation or for improving muscle function.
