METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE DEGREE OF CURE IN FORAGES
A method for determining the degree of cure in forages using a nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) technique. An NMR instrument is used to determine the amount of bound moisture (typically called stem moisture) and free moisture (typically called dew moisture) the degree of which can be used to determine how cured the forage is. This method represents an improvement on the traditional ways of determining how cured a forage is. The traditional ways have been by twisting a bunch of forage in ones hands or using a mechanical method (Hammer of fingernail) to determine if there is too much stem moisture in the stem nodes. The method can be applied using a portable instrument or building the instrument into a forage harvesting machine such as a hay baler.
Pill and paste carrier
The present invention is directed to a forage-based Pill and Paste Carrier for feeding to horses, donkeys, livestock and pets. More particularly, the Pill and Paste Carrier is formed into a hollow cylinder or disk shape, and can accept and hold a pill, a semi-solid or a liquid, or be filled with a paste. Provided is a method for making a Pill and Paste Carrier by formulation of a forage-based mixture, including a binder and a flavor enhancing substance, as well as any additive to promote animal health, then pressing and drying the formed hollow cylinder or disk and optionally filling with a formulated paste. Further provided is a method of administering medications to healthy animals or animals with acute or chronic health issues, who often make this process very difficult.

Test pendulum arrangement and method for operating a test pendulum arrangement
The invention relates to a test pendulum arrangement for carrying out a crash test dummy certifications, having a test probe which is arranged suspended on a cable arrangement, wherein test conditions are standardized and a cable standard length (l.sub.N) is provided, the cable arrangement having a suspension, wherein a first drive for accelerating the test probe and at least a second drive for displacing the suspension are provided. The invention also relates to a method for operating a corresponding test pendulum arrangement.
PRODUCING RECOVERABLE OIL FROM FERMENTATION PROCESSES
A method of recovering oil, which includes (a) converting a starch-containing material into dextrins with an alpha-amylase; (b) saccharifying the dextrins using a carbohydrate source generating enzyme to form a sugar; (c) fermenting the sugar in a fermentation medium into a fermentation product using a fermenting organism, wherein the fermentation medium comprises a xylanase and a pectinase; (d) distilling the fermentation product to form a whole stillage; (e) separating the whole stillage into thin stillage and wet cake; and (f) recovering the oil from the thin stillage.
ANIMAL FEED
An animal feed product disclosed herein has a feed mixture disposed in a container, where the feed mixture has a plurality of animal feed particles and seed butter coating each of the animal feed particles. A removable cover is coupled to the container over the cavity to encase the feed mixture. A method disclosed herein relates to heating a seed butter to reduce its viscosity. Animal feed particles are translated through a spraying region and each of the animal feed particles are coated with the heated seed butter to form a seed mixture. The seed mixture is deposited in a container defining a cavity and the feed mixture is compressed in the cavity. Other embodiments are described.

DRYING PROCESS FOR AGRICULTURAL FEEDSTUFFS
A method of drying feedstuff samples without substantially altering their composition is provided. The method includes placing feedstuff samples in one or more porous enclosures, such as bags. The enclosures allow for airflow to pass through them to the samples within without allowing said samples to escape. Enclosures holding the feedstuff samples are placed in a dryer. Multiple porous enclosures may be placed in the dryer concurrently. The dryer then subjects the feedstuff samples in the enclosures to heated airflow and rotational movement/tumbling to adjust the moisture content of the feedstuff samples. The heated air of the dryer has a temperature and airflow rate of at least 50 degrees Celsius and 500 CFM, respectively. Moreover, the rotational movement within the dryer has a rate of at least 40 RPM. The resulting dried samples have approximately 10% or less moisture remaining after 45 to 180 minutes in the dryer.
