COFFEE ROASTING SYSTEM WITH ROASTING AND COOLING SUBSYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR THE SAME
A bean roasting system includes a roasting subsystem and an air handling subsystem. The roasting subsystem is configured to receive and to thermally roast a batch of beans. The air handling subsystem is coupled to the roasting subsystem and includes a blower, a cyclone separator, and a heater. The blower is configured to impart air motion. The air passes through the air handling subsystem. The cyclone separator is configured to remove particulates from the air handling subsystem. The heater is configured to heat the air passing through the air handling subsystem. The heater includes heater windings that are incorporated into the cyclone separator.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FRYING FOOD PRODUCTS
Some implementations of the described methods relate to a process for frying coffee beans (and/or another food product) in a fry medium (such as cooking oil) and then centrifuging the coffee beans (and/or other food product) to remove a significant portion of the fry medium. Although the frying and centrifugation can occur in separate devices, in some cases, the described systems comprise a device that acts as both a fryer and a centrifuge. Indeed, in some cases, after the coffee beans (or other food product) has been fry roasted in a perforated container (e.g., a basket), the fry medium is drained from the container, and container is spun. In some cases, liquid nitrogen is also applied to the beans (or other food product), before and/or after being fry roasted. Other implementations are described.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A CENTRIFUGAL DEVICE
The invention relates to a method for operating a centrifugal device. The invention furthermore relates to a centrifugal device. The centrifugal device is provided with a drum which can be driven at a variable speed of rotation, with a frame and with vibration dampers arranged between the frame and the drum. The invention furthermore relates to a computer program product.
COFFEE ROASTER AND DEGASSER
A method and system for preparing coffee includes roasting green coffee beans, thereby resulting in roasted coffee beans; grinding the roasted coffee beans, thereby resulting ground coffee; and degassing carbon dioxide from the ground coffee.
BIN FOR FOOD DRYER
In a removable bin for a dryer, the bin includes a floor and one or more walls extending from the floor. The one or more walls include a lower wall portion, a middle wall portion, and an upper wall portion. The lower wall portion is attached to the floor. The middle wall portion extends from the lower wall portion and includes a plurality of columns. Each of the columns includes a plurality of elongated slot openings extending through the one or more walls. The slot openings in adjacent ones of the columns are arranged in a staggered arrangement. The upper wall portion extends from the middle wall portion and includes a plurality of handholds.
Bin for food dryer
A removable bin for a dryer comprises a substantially circular floor portion and a wall portion. The wall portion comprises an upper portion and a lower portion. The lower portion comprises a plurality of zones arranged along a height of the lower portion and extending along a perimeter of the lower portion. Each zone defines a respective area of the lower portion. Each of the zones comprises a number of openings for drainage, and each zone has a respective density of openings. Each of the openings is defined by one or more circumferential edges, with the circumferential edges being molded. The respective density of openings in each of the zones increases towards the bottom of the bin.
Centrifugal machine for drying granular solid materials
The present invention relates to a centrifugal machine (1) for drying granular solid materials, comprising a hopper (2), a centrifuging mechanism (3), associated to the hopper (2), provided with a rotary helical device (6) enabling the transport of the granular solid materials. Said centrifuging mechanism (3) is also provided with a perforated rotary piece (7), surrounding the rotary helical device (6) configured to remove, by centrifugal force, free liquids adhered to the surface of the granular solid materials. Additionally, the machine (1) comprises a solid outlet duct (5) and a solid collecting chamber (8), arranged between the centrifuging mechanism (3) and the solid outlet duct (5), capable of receiving the centrifuging granular solid materials from the rotary piece (7). The solid collecting chamber (8) is provided with a solid conducting rotor (9), which comprises radial blades (10) configured to push the granular solid materials and impart an increase in tangential velocity to them. The rotary helical device (6) and the rotary piece (7) are configured to allow adjustments of angular velocity.
DRYING PROCESS FOR AGRICULTURAL FEEDSTUFFS
A method of drying feedstuff samples without substantially altering their composition is provided. The method includes placing feedstuff samples in one or more porous enclosures, such as bags. The enclosures allow for airflow to pass through them to the samples within without allowing said samples to escape. Enclosures holding the feedstuff samples are placed in a dryer. Multiple porous enclosures may be placed in the dryer concurrently. The dryer then subjects the feedstuff samples in the enclosures to heated airflow and rotational movement/tumbling to adjust the moisture content of the feedstuff samples. The heated air of the dryer has a temperature and airflow rate of at least 50 degrees Celsius and 500 CFM, respectively. Moreover, the rotational movement within the dryer has a rate of at least 40 RPM. The resulting dried samples have approximately 10% or less moisture remaining after 45 to 180 minutes in the dryer.
CENTRIFUGAL DRYER MACHINE
A centrifugal dryer machine for drying a product, including a support frame, a perforated drum, substantially cylindrical in shape, having a first end open and a second end closed, a motor provided with a shaft connected to the drum, where the shaft is integrally coupled to the second end of the drum.
