Industrial equipment for the treatment of produce
An application system for forming protective coatings over perishable items, including: a bed including a plurality of rollers, wherein each of the rollers is configured to rotate at a predetermined rotational rate, thereby causing the perishable items on the bed to rotate; one or more sprayers over a first portion of the bed; one or more blowers over a second portion of the bed; a mixing system configured to prepare a mixture including a coating agent in a solvent; and a liquid delivery system connected inline between the mixing system and the one or more sprayers.
GOLD LEAF PROCESSING DEVICE AND PROCESSING METHOD
The present invention provides a device and a method for processing gold leaf to make the gold leaf float on a tea, beverage, alcohol, or the like to be suitable to drink. To this end, provided is a gold leaf processing device and a gold leaf processing method. The gold leaf processing device separates gold leaf from a gold leaf fabric having a first base material attached thereto, and attaches the separated gold leaf to a second base material, the gold leaf processing device comprising: a gold leaf attaching part which dips the gold leaf fabric in an aqueous solution to allow the first base material to be sunk and separated from the gold leaf, and attaches the second base material to the gold leaf remaining, in a floating state, on the surface of the aqueous solution; and a gold leaf fabric transfer part which transfers the gold leaf fabric to the gold leaf attaching part. The gold leaf processing method separates gold leaf from a gold leaf fabric having a first base material attached thereto, and attaches the separated gold leaf to a second base material, the gold leaf processing method comprising the steps of: dipping the gold leaf fabric in an aqueous solution to allow the gold leaf to float on the surface thereof and allow the first base material to be sunk and separated; and attaching the second base material to the gold leaf remaining, in a floating state, on the surface of the aqueous solution.
Polyethylene glycol-lactide coating on fresh eggs
A process for coating fresh eggs with a coating composition including coating the eggs with a polyethylene glycol-lactide aqueous dispersion, the process being useful for: reducing microbial content both within and outside the fresh eggs, preventing further contamination of the fresh eggs, extending the shelf life of the fresh eggs, maintaining the quality of the fresh eggs, and increasing the strength of the shells of the fresh eggs.
Masticable ingestible product and communication system therefor
An apparatus includes a food product, at least one ingestible device associated with the food product to communicate information and at least one coating material surrounding the at least one ingestible device is disclosed. The ingestible device is associated with an ingestible medication to be ingested in conjunction with the food product. The coating is configured to release the at least one ingestible device upon the occurrence of an event.

The ingestible device is associated with an ingestible medication to be ingested in conjunction with the food product. The coating is configured to release the at least one ingestible device upon the occurrence of an event.
INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT FOR THE TREATMENT OF PRODUCE
Described herein are industrial application systems for treating (e.g., forming protective coatings on) produce, agricultural products, or other items. An exemplary application system can include a bed comprising a plurality of rollers, one or more sprayers over a first portion of the bed, one or more blowers over a second portion of the bed, a mixing system configured to prepare a mixture comprising a coating agent in a solvent, and a liquid delivery system connected inline between the mixing system and the one or more sprayers. Items placed on the bed can have the mixture applied to their surfaces via the one or more sprayers, after which the one or more blowers can at least partially remove the solvent from the surfaces of the perishable items, thereby causing the protective coatings to be formed over the perishable items.
PROCESSING METHOD FOR SWEET POTATO ENABLING LONG-TERM PRESERVATION AT ROOM TEMPERATURE AND SWEET POTATO PROCESSED FOOD PREPARED THEREFROM
A sweet potato processed food can be preserved at room temperature for a long period of time while maintaining the taste, palatability, or the like acquired right after preparation procedures, given that the processed food is prepared by a process including: (1) washing and drying a sweet potato; (2) packaging each sweet potato of the step (1) in a laminated foil packaging sheet; and (3) pasteurizing the packaged sweet potato of the step (2) at 121 to 150 C. for 25 to 35 minutes. It is therefore expected to increase the income of sweet potato farmers and ensure high industrial availability by using the method for processing sweet potatoes into baked or steamed sweet potatoes that are readily consumable without trouble to conduct a separate cooking procedure, distributable at room temperature, and preservable for a long period of time.
