An aerosol-generating article is provided for producing an inhalable aerosol upon heating, the aerosol-generating article including: a rod of aerosol-generating substrate including a gel composition, the gel composition including at least one gelling agent, at least one of an alkaloid compound, and a cannabinoid compound, and at least 50 percent by weight of an aerosol former; an upstream element upstream of the rod of aerosol-generating substrate and abutting the upstream end of the rod of aerosol-generating substrate, in which a resistance-to-draw (RTD) of the upstream element is between 5 millimetres H.sub.2O and 80 millimetres H.sub.2O; and a downstream section arranged downstream of the rod of aerosol-generating substrate and in axial alignment with the rod of aerosol-generating substrate, the downstream section including one or more downstream elements.

A device is provided for the self-administration of cannabinoids. The device includes a container having an opening on a first end thereof, a cap which releasably engages said first end of said container, and an assembly, including first and second modules, which is removably placed inside of the container. The first module includes a first element equipped with first and second threading, a receptacle for said solid medium, said receptacle being equipped with at least one surface feature which slidingly engages said first threading, and a solid medium which is seated in said receptacle and which contains at least one cannabinoid. The second module is equipped with a filter and has a first threading disposed on a first terminal portion thereof. Various accessories may be releasably attached to the container or assembly. Methods of using the device are also described.

A device is provided for the self-administration of cannabinoids. An inductively heatable susceptor for use with an inductively heated aerosol-generating device or system includes an open-porous inductively heatable ceramic material configured to hold an aerosol-forming liquid and configured to heat the aerosol-forming liquid under the influence of an alternating electromagnetic field. A cartridge for use with an aerosol-generating device includes an aerosol-forming liquid and a susceptor. An aerosol-generating device includes a susceptor.

An inductively heatable susceptor for use with an inductively heated aerosol-generating device or system includes an open-porous inductively heatable ceramic material configured to hold an aerosol-forming liquid and configured to heat the aerosol-forming liquid under the influence of an alternating electromagnetic field. A cartridge for use with an aerosol-generating device includes an aerosol-forming liquid and a susceptor. An aerosol-generating device includes a susceptor.

Cartridges for vaporizer devices are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, the cartridge can include a reservoir configured to contain a plurality of encapsulated particles and an airflow tube extending through the reservoir. Each of the plurality of encapsulated particles includes a core formed of a liquid vaporizable material and a coating material that forms a shell surrounding the core, in which the shells of the plurality of encapsulated particles are configured to be selectively ruptured to release the liquid vaporizable material therefrom. The airflow tube includes a wicking element that is in communication with the reservoir, in which the wicking element is configured to draw, into the airflow tube for vaporization, at least a portion of the liquid vaporizable material that is released by rupturing one or more shells of the plurality of encapsulated particles. Vaporizer devices are also provided.

The present invention relates to a multi-layered sheet of a material containing alkaloids comprising:—a first layer comprising a substrate sheet including fibres having a mean fibre length comprised between about 1 millimetres and about 5 millimetres, the first layer defining a first surface and a second surface;—a second layer comprising a mixture of: # a powder of the material containing alkaloids, the powder having a size comprised between about 8 micrometers and about 200 micrometers; # water; # a binder; # an aerosol former; the second layer being applied to the first surface of the substrate sheet, and wherein the binder is comprised in an amount comprised between about 0 percent and about 1 percent of the total weight of the multi-layered sheet of material containing alkaloids.

The invention provides a method of manufacturing an amorphous solid, the method comprising: a) forming a slurry comprising a particulate botanical material, a gelling agent and an aerosol-former material; b) forming a layer of the slurry; and c) drying the slurry to provide the amorphous solid.
