A smoking article filter comprising: a filter material having a circular cylinder shape with first and second end surfaces and a side surface, and including a corrugated film with ridge portions and valley portions arranged alternately, the ridge portions and valley portions extending from the first end surface to the second end surface to form a plurality of air flow paths that allow air to flow from the first end surface to the second end surface; a plurality of particles arranged in the air flow paths; and a filter wrapping paper wrapping the filter material such that the side surface is covered with the filter wrapping paper.

Some embodiments of the present disclosure provide a smoking article filter having a flavoring agent uniformly distributed in the smoking article filter, which is in a solid state at room temperature and includes at least one natural wax and a flavoring component soaked into the at least one natural wax.

The disclosure relates to delivery systems including aerosol-generating material and a cooling agent WS-3 in an amount sufficient to provide a cooling effect. In particular, the disclosure relates to delivery systems that do not provide any clearly noticeable smell or taste other than one of tobacco.

Smoking articles including filter elements formed from two or more fibrous inputs with different physical properties are provided. A first plurality of cellulose acetate staple fibers and a second plurality of degradable polymeric staple fibers are blended to give a fiber mixture, wherein the staple fibers of the fiber mixture are randomly oriented. The degradable polymeric staple fibers can be treated to increase hydrophobicity. The staple fibers of the fiber mixture can then be bonded to form a fibrous bundle which can be incorporated into a filter element. Related methods and mixed fiber products are also provided by the disclosure.

Smoking articles including filter elements formed from two or more fibrous inputs with different physical properties are provided. The two or more fibrous inputs are provided in the form of staple fibers, which are at least partially entangled with each other to form a mixed fiber sliver. The mixed fiber sliver includes a first plurality of cellulose acetate staple fibers blended with a second plurality of staple fibers comprising a polymeric material different from the first plurality of staple fibers, such as staple fibers of a degradable polymeric material. The entangled fibers of the mixed fiber sliver may be sufficiently separated from one another such that blooming operations typically required in filter element production may not be necessary prior to incorporating the mixed fiber sliver into a filter element. Related methods, apparatuses and mixed fiber products are also provided by the disclosure.

The method for manufacturing a wrapped endless rod of substantially flat continuous material comprises the steps of providing a substantially flat continuous material, treating the substantially flat continuous material with corona discharge and forming the corona treated substantially flat continuous material into an endless rod. Further steps comprise providing a wrapper, applying adhesive to the wrapper and wrapping the endless rod with the wrapper. Therein the step of applying adhesive to the wrapper comprises applying adhesive over a width of the wrapper and in a central portion of the wrapper.

The invention provides a method of producing a tobacco smoke filter or filter element comprising: • heat treating a continuously advancing longitudinally extending strand of material; • cooling the heat treated continuously advancing strand; and • forming a longitudinally extending outer layer of tobacco smoke filtering material around the continuously advancing strand, to form a continuously advancing rod comprising a longitudinally extending strand (1a) of material and a longitudinally extending outer layer (2a) of tobacco smoke filtering material engaged around the longitudinally extending strand (1a). An apparatus for carrying out the method, and products of the method, are also provided.
