Aspects herein are directed to a flexible and breathable slider assembly for an article of apparel. The slider assembly includes a first slider tape having a first longitudinal edge with a first series of alternating peaks and troughs and a second longitudinal edge. The slider assembly also includes a third longitudinal edge with a second series of alternating peaks and troughs and a fourth longitudinal edge. A first textile edge of the article is attached to respective peaks of the first series of peaks but is unattached from respective troughs of the first series of troughs to form a first series of spaces. A second textile edge of the article is attached to respective peaks of the second series of peaks but is unattached from respective troughs of the second series of troughs to form a second series of spaces.

A method for preparing discontinuous zipper chain for use in apparel manufacturing includes: programming a teeth-securing machine to secure zipper teeth at specified intervals along an edge of each of a pair of zipper tapes; feeding the pair of zipper tapes into the teeth-securing machine so as to secure interlocking zipper teeth to the zipper tapes at the specified intervals, thereby forming a discontinuous zipper chain having successive toothed sections positioned along a length thereof and spaced apart from one another by gap sections without zipper teeth; and spooling or packaging the discontinuous zipper chain for use in apparel manufacturing.

The present application relates to a welding helmet comprising a helmet housing and a head cover adapted to be worn on a wearer's head and made of an air-impermeable and flexible material, wherein a zipper arrangement is provided between the helmet housing and the head cover to detachably connect the head cover to the helmet housing around the whole perimeter of an opening of the helmet housing, and wherein after the head cover is connected to the helmet housing, the zipper arrangement is located within the housing of the welding helmet. Provided is a fastener stringer attachment structure which can provide an attractive pants silhouette, improve the fit of the pants, and furthermore, reduce the manufacturing cost of the pants by reducing the number of superposed fabrics at a side edge section of a lower front bodice. A fastener tape of a fastener stringer is sewn with a sewing thread to the upper surface of a lower side fabric so that a fastener element of the fastener stringer is positioned inside an end section of the lower side fabric, and a portion of the sewing thread positioned over the fastener tape is in contact with the upper surface of the fastener tape.

A fly shield for a garment such as, for example, a pair of jeans. The fly shield is coupled to a waistband of the garment and extends along a zipper and over a crotch seam of the garment. The portion of the fly shield that extends over the crotch seam of the garment has less than four layers of material and/or consists of a first material layer and a second material layer.

It is disclosed a method for producing garments comprising separable portions and at least a zipper sewn onto said separable portions of the garment, wherein said garment undergoes shrinkage, preferably by washing, showing a wavy appearance near the zipper before shrinkage and showing a substantially plane appearance after shrinkage. Said method comprising the steps of providing an elastically stretchable zipper, said zipper in its initial un-stretched condition has the length required for the zipper in the final garment; making a garment having separable portions; stretching said zipper; sewing the stretched zipper onto said separable portions of said garment, and shrinking said garment preferably by washing, wherein after said shrinking step, said zipper is in a substantially un-stretched condition. A garment obtainable according to the steps as above is also disclosed.
