A surgical apparel system including a surgical helmet including a peripheral device and surgical garment. The surgical helmet comprising a face frame, a sensor, and a coupling member at least partially disposed within a recess of the face frame. The surgical garment configured to be at least partially disposed over the surgical helmet to provide a barrier between a medical environment and a wearer, the garment comprising an attachment element configured to removably engage the coupling member of the helmet to couple the garment to the helmet. The sensor positioned and configured to detect when the attachment element is engaged with the coupling member and to transmit a signal a controller related to operation of the peripheral device based on the engagement of the attachment element with the coupling member. The controller coupled to the sensor configured to control the peripheral device based on the signal from the sensor.

VISOR FOR FASTENING TO A CAP OR A HEADBAND OR A CLIP

A visor or a headband used for fastening to a cap using press studs. The visor includes as its main component a panel, which has an upper edge and two side edges. One press stud component is provided in each of the upper corner regions of the panel where the upper edge and the side edges meet. At least one stop component is provided at least partially below a path connecting the press stud components to one another.

PERSONAL PROTECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD

A protective headgear system includes a support configured to engage the head of a user, a facial shield having an upper portion coupled to the support and a lower portion having a lower extremity, a flexible sheet coupled to the facial shield, a base carried by the support, a first microphone carried below the lower extremity of the facial shield and preferentially oriented away from the user, a second microphone carried by the base and preferentially oriented toward the user, a first audio generator capable of being sensed by at least one ear of the user, and a second audio generator including a loudspeaker carried by the base such that the loudspeaker is located below the lower extremity of the facial shield and is oriented for preferential sound energy delivery generally away from the user.

There is provided a welding helmet (1) comprising a face protection member (3) moveable between a lowered position in which the face protection member (3) covers a wearer's face, and an upraised position, in which the face protection member (3) uncovers the wearer's face, a headband suspension system (9) for fixing the face protection member (3) to a wearer's head, a protective cap (17) comprising a flexible outer layer (19) and at least one compressible inner liner (21).

Welding helmet

A welding helmet includes at least one helmet shell, fixing elements, a glare shield device and at least one protective screen spaced therefrom, and at least one display device for presenting data in the field of view of a welder, the at least one display device being arranged in the edge region of the field of view in the intermediate space between the glare shield device and the protective screen. The glare shield device has at least one cut-out in the area of the at least one display device. Because there is no glare shield device in the region of the display device, the view of the display device is not impeded by the glare shield device.

Face and Head Shield

A protective shield features a single-piece transparent dome or shell having a rear opening through which facial and cranial regions of a user's head are received, thereby providing improved coverage over conventional face shields that cover the face only. Inward protrusions at a transitional region between the facial and cranial portions of the shield rest against the forehead to offset the facial portion of the shield forwardly of the user's face to allow airflow, optionally introduced from an external fan via an airflow channel integrally formed in the cranial portion. A flexible connector clip has a J-shaped profile for engaging an out-turned flange around the boundary of the shield s rear opening, to enable clipped connection of a bib or shroud. Support protrusions in an underside of the cranial portion maintain airspace above the head, which is further optimized by a rearwardly sloped incline of the cranial portion.

An exposure-indicating supplied air respirator system comprises a head top, a clean air supply source and a portable personal communication hub. The head top comprises a visor that is sized to fit over at least a user's nose and mouth, a position sensor secured to the head top, and a head top communication module. The clean air supply source is connected to the head top that supplies clean air to the interior of the head top. The position sensor detects whether the visor is in a closed position or in an open position and the head top communication module communicates the visor position to the personal communication hub. If the personal communication hub receives a signal indicating the presence of a hazard, and if the visor is in an open position, an alert is generated.

Lens seal for headgear

An article of headgear that has a head-covering article, a lens moveably attached to the head-covering article, and a seal attached to the lens, the seal comprising a first polymeric material and a second polymeric material, the first polymeric material having a greater tensile modulus than the second material. In an exemplary embodiment, the lens is moveable from a first, lowered position to a second, raised position, and when in the first, lowered position, the seal sealingly engages the head-covering article. In some embodiments, the tensile modulus of the first polymeric material is at least about 5× greater or even about 10× greater than the tensile modulus of the second material.

Surgical personal protection apparatus

A personal protection system for providing a sterile barrier around medical/surgical personnel. The system may include a head unit over which surgical garment such as a hood or a toga may be suspended over. The surgical garment may include a sterile material and a shield configured to be disposed in front of the wearers face when disposed over the head unit. The shield may comprise an anti-reflective coating configured to reduce the glare observed by the individual through said shield. The head unit may comprises a light assembly that is disposed on the wearers side of the surgical garment, and an inner surface of said surgical garment may comprise a light reflective material configured to reduce the amount of light emitted from said light assembly that is reflected back toward the individual.
