The device further includes a transparent face shield mounted on one side of the frame in such a way as to create an airtight seal between the face shield and the one side of the frame, a fabric component made from an air impermeable fabric and mounted on the other side of the frame in such a way as to create an airtight seal between the fabric component and the other side of the frame, and to encircle the user's neck, a head harness configured to rest on the user's head and support the frame with its components mounted thereon, and wherein the components are mounted on the upper portion the frame and on the lower portion of the frame so as to achieve a weight distribution ratio between the upper portion of the frame with components mounted thereon and the lower portion of the frame with components mounted thereon, the ratio being between 1 to 1.5 and 1.5 to 1.

INFLATABLE BLADDER FOR HEADGEAR WITH CLIMATE CONTROL
20230011592 · 2023-01-12 ·

An inflatable bladder and comfort control device is provided for mounting within headgear. The inflatable bladder and comfort control device have at least one inflatable bladder adapted to be positioned against a user's head. An air supply source is operatively connected to the inflatable bladder to inflate the bladder and provide air to the user. A directional valve is operatively mounted within the air supply source to separate the air supply source into flow paths to inflate the at least one inflatable bladder, and to create air flow adjacent the user. A directional valve controls the air flow to the bladder and the user's face. Comfort openings are in fluid communication with the air flow path to supply air to adjacent a user's head.

Personal protection and ventilation system

A personal protection and ventilation system is provided. The system includes a gown having front and rear panels, a hood, and visor; a fan; an air tube; and a helmet. The fan is positioned between the wearer and a body-facing surface of the rear panel. The front panel and at least a portion of the hood are formed from a first material including a first spunbond layer, a spunbond-meltblown-spunbond laminate, and a liquid impervious elastic film disposed therebetween. The first material has an air volumetric flow rate of less than about 1 standard cubic feet per minute (scfm). The rear panel is formed from a second material including a nonwoven laminate having an air volumetric flow rate of about 20 scfm to about 80 scfm. Therefore, the fan is able to intake a sufficient amount of air from the environment through the rear panel to provide cooling/ventilation to the hood.

A personal protective headgear is an apparatus fully enclosing a user's head, protecting not only from potential contamination of breathing air but also from potential physical damage. A facial shield is hermetically sealed around the front-facing portion of the apparatus, preventing entrance of unfiltered air. Fans direct air through a set of filters, thus cleansing air entering the apparatus. The apparatus may further be equipped with a variety of interactivity modules, including cameras, speakers, lights, displays, and more. A set of sensors may be utilized to monitor the user and the user's surroundings in different conditions. The apparatus may also include wireless capabilities that allow the wearer to transfer information to and from a remote user, thereby allowing the user to follow instructions or otherwise interact with a guide or other such remote companion. Swappable battery packs allow the user to avoid losing power, even while replenishing power supplies.

Helmet cooling system
11517067 · 2022-12-06 ·

A helmet cooling system includes a reservoir for holding a chilled medium and includes fan that that draws ambient air into the reservoir so that the air will pass over the chilled medium and exit the reservoir through a tube that is connected to a helmet. The helmet includes several channels for distributing the chilled air to the wearer's head to help keep the wearer comfortable. The reservoir can include a diverter valve to preserve the chilled medium when it is not necessary by sealing off the chilled medium and preventing air from circulating past it or otherwise contacting the chilled medium.

CLIMATE CONTROLLED HEADGEAR APPARATUS
20220354206 · 2022-11-10 ·

A headgear apparatus having a shell, an air flow structure, a thermoelectric system, a connector, and a condensate wick. The air flow structure is coupled to the shell and the thermoelectric system is configured to produce a stream of air. The thermoelectric system has a housing having at least one air inlet, a first and a second air outlet, a least one blower and at least one thermoelectric heat pump. The first air outlet provides the stream of cooled air to the air flow structure and the second air outlet vents hot air produced by the heat pump to outside the apparatus. The connector is configured to connect the first air outlet of the thermoelectric system housing to the air flow structure and the condensate wick is configured to collect condensation formed by the heat pump and evaporate the collected condensation using the hot air produced by the heat pump.

Protective Device

An air purifying device including means for reducing air resistance between the air filtering elements and the target locations for the purified air. Reduced air resistance lowers the energy consumed by the device, thereby reducing its size and weight as well as improving ease of integration with a variety of head gear.

PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT FOR RESPIRATION, PROTECTIVE SYSTEM FOR RESPIRATION, AND MANAGEMENT METHOD

A protective system for respiration, and a management method facilitates stably supplying filtered air for safety such that the equipment management or the safety management can be performed remotely. The protective equipment includes a main body that covers the face of an operator, a fan unit including an air filter and an electric fan, a detecting section, a first control section, and a first communication section. The detecting section detects a physical quantity concerning at least one of a work environment of the operator, an action state of the operator, and an operation state of the electric fan. The first control section controls the electric fan based on a detection result of the detecting section. The first communication section transmits first information indicating a detection result of the detecting section or second information concerning an operation amount on a control target of the first control section to an external device.
