Antibacterial and deodorizing leather
An antibacterial and deodorizing leather includes a leather body and an antibacterial and deodorizing layer. The antibacterial and deodorizing layer includes a water-based foaming material and an antibacterial deodorant. The water-based foaming material and the antibacterial deodorant are mixed and arranged on the leather body and then bonded with the leather body by hot pressing. By uniformly mixing the antibacterial deodorant and a bactericide through the water-based foaming material to become gelatinous, the antibacterial and deodorizing layer is arranged on the leather body according to the size of the leather body. Then, the antibacterial and deodorizing layer is tightly bonded with the leather body by hot pressing, achieving the effects of saving costs, simplifying the manufacturing process, and environmental protection.
CUSTOMIZED INSOLES FOR DIABETIC AND PRESSURE ULCERS
Disclosed herein are insoles useful for treating skin injuries on a foot, for instance ulcers. The insoles are customizable for each patient's foot and can include various portions of differing softness, depending on the needs of the patient. For instance, it can be beneficial for certain sections of the foot to contact a firmer material, whereas other sections contact a softer material. Some, or all, of the materials can include one or more biofidelic skin simulant materials. Thus, various implementations include one or more regions that can include the same or different materials. For example, a custom insole can include a heel support region, a midfoot support region, and a forefoot support region, and the support regions can be subdivided into medial and lateral support regions or toe regions. One or more regions may have a custom isolation segment to prevent the progression of ulcers and/or expedite wound healing.
Algae-derived flexible foam, and a method of manufacturing the same
This document presents algae-derived antimicrobial fiber substrates, and a method of making the same. The fiber may be a synthetic fiber, but can also be formed as a cellulosic (e.g., cotton). In various implementations, an algae-derived antimicrobial fiber substrate can be made to have identical properties and characteristics of nylon-6 of nylon 6-6 polymer or the like, and yet contain antimicrobial, anti-viral, and/or flame retardant algal derived substances. Any of various species of red algae, brown algae, blue-green algae, and brown seaweed (marine microalgae and/or macroalgae) are known to contain a high level of sulfated polysaccharides with inherent antimicrobial, antiviral, and flame-retardant properties, and can be used as described herein. Additionally disclosed are algae-derived flexible foams, whether open-cell or closed-cell, with inherent antimicrobial, antiviral, and flame resistant properties. Further, a process of manufacturing is presented wherein the process may include one or more of the steps of: harvesting algae-biomass; sufficiently drying the algae biomass; blending the dried algae biomass with a carrier resin and various foaming ingredients; adding an algal-derived antimicrobial compound selected from various natural sulfated polysaccharides present in brown algae, red algae, and/or certain seaweeds (marine microalgae); and adding a sufficient quantity of dried algae biomass to the formulation to adequately create a fire resistant flexible foam material.
ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR WITH COFFEE GRINDS
A method for fabrication of one or more components of an article of footwear is provided. In one example, the method includes fabricating a mixture of polyurethane (PU) precursors and coffee grounds of a first size using a two-step mixing, and then injection molding one or more components of the article of footwear using the mixture, the one or more components of the article of footwear formed of a coffee grounds-PU composite material.
DISPOSABLE INSOLE PAD
A disposable insole pad includes an absorbent layer, a removable skin adhesive, a first release liner, and an anti-slip member. The removable skin adhesive is attached to the top surface of the absorbent layer, and the anti-slip member is attached to the bottom surface of the absorbent layer. The removable skin adhesive is intended to be removably attached to a user's foot, and a first release liner is provided to cover the removable adhesive. The user wears the present invention by removing the first release liner and attaching his foot to the removable skin adhesive, and then, he wears a shoe such that the anti-slip member is to be in contact with a shoe insole.
Shoe inserts
The present disclosure relates to a device for retaining the shape of a shoe. The shoe insert provided herein for retaining the shape of a shoe includes a toe fabric bag and a vamp fabric bag. Each fabric bag may be made of a malleable form-fitting fabric. Each fabric bag may be of different sizes and shapes to fit shoes of different sizes and shapes. Also disclosed are methods of manufacturing a shoe insert and methods of using a device for retaining the shape of a shoe.
Anti-infective shoe soles
Shoe outsoles having anti-infective properties are provided herein, as are methods and materials for making shoes and shoe outsoles having anti-infective properties.
Adhesive, washable, antimicrobial insert liner for shoes and method of manufacturing the same
A shoe insert liner or no-show sock configured to detachably adhere to an interior cavity of a shoe is provided. In one embodiment, the shoe insert liner includes a liner having an exterior surface and an adhesive bonded to at least a portion of the exterior surface of the liner. The liner includes a longitudinal portion, opposing first and second lateral portions extending in a first direction from opposite sides of the longitudinal portion, and opposing front and rear portions extending in the first direction from opposite ends of the longitudinal portion. Together, the longitudinal, lateral, front, and rear portions of the liner define an interior cavity and an opening configured to receive a user's foot.
Footwear and insole system
A footwear insole system for use with an article of footwear including a base insole component and an upper insole component. The base insole includes a chassis and first and a second shock absorbing inserts. The upper insole includes a spacer panel, first and a second gel insert members, and a fabric sheet layer. The insole system may be permanently secured to an article of footwear or the insole system may be replaceable or interchangeable for installation and removal to and from an article of footwear by a user.
