WATCH STRAP
A watch strap includes a substantially inflexible main portion, a flexible auxiliary portion coupled to the substantially inflexible main portion, and a tightener coupled to the flexible auxiliary portion. When in use, the tightener is configured to maintain a selected tightness, and the flexible auxiliary portion is configured to be elastic.
Wristbands with magnetic coupling
A wristband can comfortably secure an electronic device, such as a wristwatch or fitness/health tracking device, to a wrist of a user. The wristband can include a number of magnets that allow the wristband to be magnetically coupled to itself when folded over or when separate band portions are overlapping. The magnets can include a polymer mixed with a magnetic material to provide magnetic properties and flexibility. The magnets can be joined together by a continuous support structure that extends through opposing pairs of the magnets. The support structure can provide substantial and ability as well as tensile strength. The magnets and the support structure can be surrounded by a flexible cover to protect the components within.
Watch band with adjustable fit
Watch bands can be provided with an ability to dynamically adjust the fit of a watch against a wrist of a user. One or more of a variety of tensioning elements can be provided with a shape memory polymer that responds to a stimulus to adjust a fit of the band. Such stimulus can be from user or actively applied by the watch. The shape memory polymer can be a composite material that provides high durability under cyclic stretching and high speed response of shape recovering while avoiding a drastic moduli drop by shape recovering.
Strap adapter and electronic device including the same
An electronic device may include a main body including a front plate, a rear plate disposed to be spaced apart from the front plate, a lateral member surrounding a space between the front plate and the rear plate, and a display viewed through at least a portion of the front plate. The electronic device may further include a housing having a space therein and combined with a strap at one side thereof in a first axial direction, a first fastening part protruding from another side of the housing toward the main body and detachably connected to the main body, a second fastening part formed in the main body and engaged with the first fastening part, and a button disposed in the housing, exposed at least in part to an outside of the housing, and moving the first fastening part to be separated from the second fastening part.
Elastic articulation for a watch assembly
An arrangement includes two components (3, 4; 3′, 4′) of a timepiece component and an axis of rotation (A1; A1′), the two components (3, 4; 3′, 4′) being linked to one another by an elastic articulated link (100; 100′) about the axis of rotation (A1; A1′), the arrangement also includes an elastic element (10, 10′; 10″) such that the relative movement of the two components (3, 4; 3′, 4′) takes place against the elastic element (10, 10′; 10″), wherein the elastic element (10, 10′; 10″) includes at least two superposed springs (10a, 10b, 10a′, 10b′; 10a″, 10b″), each of these at least two springs (10a, 10b, 10a′, 10b′; 10a″, 10b″) taking the form of a distinct element.
Method for fabrication of a composite part
A method for fabrication of a composite component including a first material containing steel 316L and a second material containing zirconia powder formed in a single sintering. The method for fabrication includes: a) forming a first injection molding composition including steel 316L powder and a second injection molding composition including zirconia powder; b) agglomerating via injection molding one of the first and second compositions to form at least a first part of a blank; c) agglomerating by injection molding the other of the first and second materials against the first part of the blank to form at least a second part of the blank; and d) non-consecutively sintering the first and second compositions forming the blank to obtain the composite component formed of steel 316L and zirconia.
Wearable souvenir holder with breakaway functionality
A souvenir holder that is wearable through one or more band portions configured to form a loop. The one or more band portions provide penetration holes operatively associable with a breakaway closure system configured to move the loop between a locked engagement and an unlocked engagement. The unlocked engagement is defined by at least two modes, including a breakaway mode wherein the breakaway closure system breaks when one or more of the band portions are caught on an object while worn.
STRAP AND WEARABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING THE SAME
A wearable electronic device, and strap for the same are disclosed. The wearable electronic device includes: a housing, including a first connection pin detachably inserted in a first direction and a second connection pin detachably inserted in a second direction opposite to the first direction, a first strap detachably affixed to the housing via the first connection pin, and a second strap detachably affixed to the housing via the second connection pin, wherein the first strap includes a body member including a seated part in which an insert member is accommodated, and a clip member coupled to the insert member, the clip member defining an opening therein that extends lengthwise, and wherein the clip member is rotatably combined with the first connection pin
WATCH WITH BAND DEVICE
Wearable electronic devices, such as watches, can include a watch body and a band device that can be used together or independently of one another. The band device can provide continual operation of its functions even in the absence of the watch body. The assembly of the watch body and the band device can provide secure engagement, communication, and power sharing. Accordingly, neither the watch body nor the band device need to independently include components that provide every function that will be desired by the user. Instead, functions that are desired on a continual or long-term basis can be provided by the band device, and functions that are desired on an intermittent or short-term basis can be provided by the watch body.
