A method of preparing a light-curable artificial nail includes extracting from an adhesive film in a semi-cured state a portion of the adhesive film in a shape of a human nail. The portion of the adhesive film includes a light-curable composition in the semi-cured state. A portion of the polish film in the shape of the human nail is extracted from a polish film. The portion of the adhesive film and the portion of the polish film are combined to form layers of the light-curable artificial nail.

In differing embodiments, the body may be manufactured from a plastic or rubber material that may be flexible, semi-flexible or rigid. The body further has a first end that has a continuous opening that allows a user to insert a fingertip into the device and a second end further comprised of a top surface that exposes the nail of the user. In this manner, all other skin portions of the fingertip of the user are covered with the exception of the nail. Therefore, the nail can then be decorated while the skin area around the nail is protected from overspray.

A method for changing nail color comprises selecting, via a software application on a computing device, a color from a color palette comprising a plurality of color options, and transmitting from the computing device an electronic signal to an electronic device, wherein the electronic signal identifies the selected color. The electronic device generates a functional stimulus to change a color of a nail of a user to the selected color. The functional stimulus is applied to the nail of the user via the electronic device.

An example operation includes one or more of: detecting a presence of a hand resting on a hand rest; in response to detecting the presence of the hand, determining a nail shape and a nail size of the hand; receiving a user input specifying at least one manicure preference to be applied to one or more nails of the hand; in response to receiving the user input, activating at least one of an actuator, a motor or a hydraulic piston to raise the hand rest; performing an automated manicure of one or more nails on the hand using the determined nail shape, the determined nail size, and the user input; and in response to a completion of the automated manicure, activating at least one of the actuator, the motor, or the hydraulic piston to lower the hand rest.
