A fastener including a reversing member (4) having a long side portion (4a,4b) curved so that a central region in a longitudinal direction protrudes; and a plurality of comb teeth (10,12) connected at one end to the long side portion, another end of the comb teeth being a free end. The comb teeth extend in a direction intersecting the longitudinal direction of the long side portion, and the comb teeth are arranged at predetermined intervals along the longitudinal direction of the long side portion. The comb teeth include a first and second comb teeth at least having different lengths from the one end to the other end, and the first and second comb teeth are disposed adjacent to each other in the longitudinal direction of the long side portion, and extend side by side from the one end to the other end.

A hair clip includes a curvilinear upper clamping arm having a shape as a curved knurled member; a curvilinear lower clamping arm having a slightly curved bend up shape; and a hinge assembly, said upper clamping arm including two side ears and elongated projections on an lower surface, said lower clamping arm including two side brackets, an elongated opening extending from a position adjacent of the other end to the side brackets to allow the plurality of elongated projections to pass through, protrusions disposed on an upper surface at either side of the opening, and said hinge assembly including a torsion spring and pins through the side ears and the brackets. A hair barrette for securing hair is disclosed. The hair barrette includes a first, second, and third segment. The first and second segments each have a first side having teeth and a catch, and an opposing second side having an ornamental design. The third segment is positioned between the first and second segments and may have a first end, a second end, a first opening adjacent to the first end, and a second opening adjacent to the second end. The catch of the first segment is insertable into the second opening of the third segment and the catch of the second, segment is insertable into the first opening of the third segment. Further the ornamental designs are visible when said the catches are inserted into the openings.

A hair barrette for securing hair is disclosed. The hair barrette includes a first, second, and third segment. The first and second segments each have a first side having teeth and a catch, and an opposing second side having an ornamental design. The third segment is positioned between the first and second segments and may have a first end, a second end, a first opening adjacent to the first end, and a second opening adjacent to the second end. The catch of the first segment is insertable into the second opening of the third segment and the catch of the second, segment is insertable into the first opening of the third segment. Further the ornamental designs are visible when said the catches are inserted into the openings.

Disclosed herein are devices and methods for holding hair to prevent hair damage during combing procedures. A hair gripping device can include a handle, a jaw connected to the handle, and a grip retained within the jaw. The handle and the jaw may comprise portions of first and second arms of the hair gripping device. The grip may be configured to hold a plurality of hair strands at a hair contact portion of the grip. With actuation of the handle, the jaw may be configured to move between a closed position in which movement of a majority of strands in a bundle of hair within the first hair contact portion is inhibited by the grip and an open position in which movement of a majority of hair strands in a bundle of hair within the first hair contact portion is not inhibited by the grip.

Disclosed herein are devices and methods for holding hair to prevent hair damage during combing procedures. A hair gripping device can include a handle, a jaw connected to the handle, and a grip retained within the jaw. The handle and the jaw may comprise portions of first and second arms of the hair gripping device. The grip may be configured to hold a plurality of hair strands at a hair contact portion of the grip. With actuation of the handle, the jaw may be configured to move between a closed position in which movement of a majority of strands in a bundle of hair within the first hair contact portion is inhibited by the grip and an open position in which movement of a majority of hair strands in a bundle of hair within the first hair contact portion is not inhibited by the grip.

A hair clip, particularly for curly hair, includes a first curved jaw having a proximal end portion and a curved distal end portion; and a second curved jaw coupled to the first jaw. The second curved jaw has a proximal end portion and a curved distal end portion. An axle is coupled to the proximal end portions of the first and second curved jaws, thereby permitting the first and second curved jaws to pivot relative to one another between an open position and a closed position. The clip also has a biasing element disposed between the proximal end portions of the first and second curved jaws. The biasing element applies a biasing force to both the first and second curved jaws such that in a rest position, the first and second curved jaws are in the closed position.

A comb-clip for use with hair includes two arms having a pivotable end portion and a free end portion. The comb clip is adapted to enable the arms to be moved toward each other at the free end portion. The comb-clip is adapted to enable the arms to be moved away from each other at the free end portion in an open position of the comb-clip. One of the arms is a comb arm including a comb having a plurality of teeth and the other one of the arms is a cover arm that covers the plurality of teeth of the comb in a closed position of the comb-clip.

A comb-clip for use with hair includes two arms having a pivotable end portion and a free end portion. The comb clip is adapted to enable the arms to be moved toward each other at the free end portion. The comb-clip is adapted to enable the arms to be moved away from each other at the free end portion in an open position of the comb-clip. One of the arms is a comb arm including a comb having a plurality of teeth and the other one of the arms is a cover arm that covers the plurality of teeth of the comb in a closed position of the comb-clip.
